Hi everyone - I hope you can drop a line to say hello - I'll be online for a while tonight! This is just a note to sign off until New Year post and say thank-you soooo much for the support over the year!! I’ve had a busy one - selling a house, moving cities twice, and I’m still planning to do some overseas travel next year 😁 I’ve loved getting to know everyone a little better and can’t wait to see what next year brings. Hey! How are you? I’ve been crazy busy! At the moment, all of my siblings and I are back in Auckland, so it’s a house full - but it was nice to cook for my little sisters last night (I have 3!) Busy can be good! Very mellow over here, trying to finish first draft of Christmas script before the new year but otherwise mostly unplugging🤞 That’s really nice you’re getting to spend time with your sisters! When you have a lot of siblings it can be so tricky to get everyone together. I think a low key holiday and some baking over here? It’s been a really warm winter here which is great because good weather to get outside but it does not feel like December like what happened to the year 😭

It is so hard to get together! Particularly when one lives 12,000 miles away… 😫 But that’s nice that you’re getting focussed time to work on a script. I’m more than a bit jealous. Any hints as to what you’re baking up? (on the page and in the oven?)

Merry Christmas Matthew! Sounds like you've been busy, are you permanently in Auckland? I'm sad because I loved the adorable place in Dunedin but I understand change we moved from Chicago to Michigan it took us months to be totally settled in😕 How do you like Auckland? It sounds fast paced like Chicago, lots of museums, theater, restaurants, shopping😊. Your audios have been intriguing, sexy and I love your quirkiness style, you always make me smile and blush at the same time😚😚 It's busy here, my daughters are home from college, in laws are here, we have a full house.....I love it! Oh thats really far! My little sister is just across the country and even that feels like too much sometimes. Sugar cookies, which has been weirdly satisfying as I experimented with different butter and flour and I feel confident that I’ve found the best combination yet. The first batch was a hit at a family Christmas party and are slowly gaining a cult following. The script is kind of a romcom about a location scout going to a small town to scout before the holidays. It’s kind of cheesy and sweet but it’s also entertaining and grounded I think? I’d like to think I learned a lot about striking a balance making the agency? I want oldschool romcom vibes not all this hallmark stuff that’s void of any reality/entertainment. It’s really fun to get to use some of my scouting stories! You know like getting proposed to by a random toothless man in a small town 🫠 (okay not including that one)

I’m sure the weather and feeling miserable will pass. I might go for a mission to find some chocolate… If the weather holds up, there’s a twilight market on this evening. I will most likely go for a walk around after my chiropractor appointment. It’s all pretty peaceful and quiet here.

And I am grateful I have not 😂 I’m regularly surprised how many people will just let me in their house to take pictures like we’re old friends, that seems like a weird skill to have developed. Over the summer I was filming in a neighborhood and one of the houses insisted I was a scammer, to my face, and I was weirdly offended that they thought *I* could be a scammer.

My recovery is doing good. The last couple of months were pretty hard. I reduced one of my medications in half. I am in less pain during warmer seasons and will try to cut back another one next month. I will spend the next couple of weeks getting used to the gym before I do. Cutting back on a painkiller and starting a new exercise program at the same time is probably too much. It’s going good, but slow

While I like to be a little nomadic sometimes, it’s always nice to have a comfortable home base. I hope you have a wonderful time with your mum and sisters. If you feel like sharing, I’d love to hear about what you made them for dinner. I’ve only cooked for one of my siblings before (there are 4), and I’ve often thought about what I would make if we were all crazy enough to be in one place at the same time. Hey RP! Thanks for the love and back at you! It’s rare for me to meet someone with more siblings than myself haha. I’ve cooked a few dinners for them already! :) Beef koftas with halloumi, wild rice and salads / Falfalla pasta with fresh salmon / Moroccan Lamb with fresh asparagus… Next up is Korean Bulgogi, then a Kiwi BBQ on Christmas Day… So we’re all staying healthy, although there is a bit more to us after every meal… ;) Hope you have a great holiday!!!

It’s going to be a quiet, empty nest this year for the holidays, but I can’t say that I’m missing the hectic travel or freezing temperatures of my alternatives. We’ve had a few nice sunny days of tennis here, and I’ve gotten to have some contemplative kitchen experimental time to practice for future festivities.
