i know i say it all the time, but this one is forever so special to me. if you're ever in the mood to make a part 2 of this, just know you'll have an audience in me. she's such a dream 🩷

Lavender Belle (Jenn)

Funny I was thinking this morning how nice it would be if you did a new sleep aid or affirmation recording and here it is! Thanks for helping me relax! 🥰🥰

Niamh

A beautiful voice to match some beautiful words 💜

Good Evening Matthew, thank you so much for taking a little break from the naughtiness. 😇 This was a much-needed break from the daily grind of late. Now I'm inspired to pour myself a Jameson neat🥃, dig out my copy of "Listen to the Warm"📖, and have a read on the patio while the sun sets. ☀ It's hard not to imagine you as some mythical being, then again, perhaps you are. Some audio wizard🧙‍♂️casting charms over all the belles to make them sing. “We think, sometimes, there's not a dragon left. Not one brave knight, not a single princess gliding through secret forests, enchanting deer and butterflies with her smile. What a pleasure to be wrong. Princesses, knights, enchantments and dragons, mystery and adventure ...not only are they here-and-now, they're all that ever lived on earth! Our century, they've changed clothes, of course. Dragons wear government-costumes, today, and failure-suits and disaster-outfits. Society's demons screech, whirl down on us should we lift our eyes from the ground, dare we turn right at corners we've been told to turn left. So crafty have appearances become that princesses👸 and knights can be hidden from each other, can be hidden from themselves.” - Richard Bach. Thank you so much. ~be well~

Clara

This is exactly what I need right now, time to get comfy 🥰🥰

Deanna Tyson

Oh this was a great way to end a long day Bestie!! I love poetry a lot. Going to listen again to fall asleep. Have a good evening. 😘

D

Matthew!!! 😃 Snuggling up to read together is my favorite!!! The only thing missing is your heartbeat! This is just in time for 10 days of vacation to hike, kayak, read, write, sit out by a fire pit and completely decompress! 😍 This will 100% be my snuggle up for bed time whilst gone. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. I've been hoping for a track like this and your timing, kind Sir, is perfection! 🤗😘 D

Kris

I absolutely adore your asmr audios. You've yet to publish one that doesn't immediately cast aside every stressor of the day, melt the tension from my body, and rekindle tranquility in my soul. How you manage it, I'm not sure, but I'm very thankful that you do. Be well, my dear Matthew, and I hope your evening ends up as pleasant as mine has 💜

toweraudios
>>69673655

Thanks 💜SR! The princesses are around too! Some are sitting on their patios reading, other's still working, cooking, sleeping soundly... I hope we're not all hidden from each other though. 😘xx

toweraudios

D! 💓If you listen with headphones you might hear it! It's there, (but subtly - you can def hear it at the end though)... Anyway, enjoy your break! That sounds super. 🤗xx

Since you shared some with me I’ll trade you some of my favorites😊 I actually have a notebook full lol Sea of Strangers In a sea of strangers, you’ve longed to know me. You’re life spent sailing to my shores. The arms that yearn, to someday hold me, will ache beneath the heavy oars. Please take your time and take it slowly; as all you do will run it’s course. And nothing else can take what only- was always meant as solely yours. -Lang Leav “She wasn't doing a thing that I could see, except standing there leaning on the balcony railing, holding the universe together.” -J.D. Salinger “I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.” -Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice 💜Xx

toweraudios
>>69680462

Ha - I love these, K💜. I knew Lang Leav had some connection to New Zealand but she'd been slammed as a bad insta-poet in some reviews here, so I hadn't read her stuff before. This one is great! It would have really suited the audio actually... 😘xx

Ah, cool! Poem XVII is one of my favourites by ee cummings! Deceptively simple and straightforward, but if you give it a minute to sink in, you can almost imagine how he must have quoted it to some young, maybe not-so-innocent, lady to seduce her over drinks: Lady, I will touch you with my mind… touch you (moving closer) and touch (closer…) and touch (he reaches out to touch her cheek) until you give me - suddenly! - a smile, shyly obscene (ah, she’s done it, the shy smile, looking up from under her lashes, but /knowing/, all the same…) Lady, I will touch you with my mind (whispered into her ear) Touch you, that is all Lightly (a caress of the shoulder) And you utterly /will/ become (a kiss on the neck, brushing aside her hair) With infinite care (again, whispered in her ear while caressing her neck) A poem which I do not write… It’s no mere poem in the end, but a promise thinly disguised as poetry. Cummings was quite a looker in his day, too, so I remember wondering - when I first read it - how well he lived up to the promise. Heh 😏 Thank you for sharing these with us! It was lovely to listen to you read and tell us some of your thoughts on them! 💚

IndyJane

Already on my third listen. I love your reading cadence. Could you throw the text of the poems into a doc in the Turret folder? I have a hard time actually taking in the words when your voice is so completely distracting. I really like that you introduced the poems with a little bit about why your picked them or what they mean to you. This is stupid, but I know you’ve hit something special in me when I think “I freaking hate you.” Probably because it’s easier to think “hate” than another strong emotion. Anyway, I thought about how much I hate you a lot during this audio. Like, of course you would pick pieces that are so evocative and then deliver them in perfectly paced speech for maximum impact. And of course you would whisper as exactly the right moment to give me goosebumps. You are so annoyingly good at giving me exactly what I need before I’ve even thought of it.

Venusinaphrodite_

I had no idea! I’ve had it saved for such a long time but didn’t know anything about the author. Startdust is great too. Here’s some other poets and authors I’ve saved a lot from as well in no particular order. Works are short but poignant nonetheless. From one hopeful romantic to another💜😘 Perry Poetry David Jones J.R. Rogue JMStorm Kat Savage R.h. Sin Rumi Mark Anthony J. Iron Word Nikita Gill

What a gift! I have been on a poetry reading kick since the last audio and 2 poems I kept coming back to are here in live Matthew-speak. What a happy coincidence. Thank you. Sweet dreams. 😘

I am loving this. So seductive. Thank you for sharing. 💜

VANESSA

Well you DEFINITELY touched me with your mind!!! And I did give you a smile shyly obscene!!! See! 😆🦋🦋🌹🥀 https://linksharing.samsungcloud.com/yKbLOSr7sGo6 There was me listening. I listened again out on my porch stoop with the wind gently blowing on my skin. It was beautiful, comforting & romantic! I think it's so attractive when men are into poetry. I used to have a love that receited some of Shakespeare's sonnets to me. He used to laugh afterwards and say "You're wet now aren't you?"....I was🤣. I actually SHUDDER, SHIVER and my legs shake when I listen to you do ASMR. Doesn't happen with any other artist & I listen to quite a few. My favorite poems were The Encounter. Me being a Scorpion I'm into branding, possession & intuitive connections. I also liked the one about 12:30 in. Sorry with your accent I can't always make out the names or titles. Like IndyJane suggested, having them in written form would be wonderful! At the beginning I thought u said you brought your "FILTHY" blanket. I was like "Why would I wanna wrap myself in THAT! Does this man not do wash?! On 2nd listen I see you said "FLUFFY" blanket...much better!🤣 But anyway yeah the one where it says " Naked now he lays full length over her. She enjoyed his weight on her. She enjoyed being crushed under his body. She wanted him soldered to her....she wanted to be burned". That's a good description of how I feel when I'm in love. Also a fetish or something I fancy. Most of the men I dated worked out & were quite muscular. I liked them to stay on top of me after we made love. To feel their weight. My girlfriend used to tease me. Thought it a strange thing to fancy. She said one of these days we're gonna come over & Vanessa will be masterbating with the TV set on top of her!!!🤣🤣🤣 Wish I knew of this poem then. I feel a little less a weirdo now. It's romantic! Anyway thank u for this Matt! Your literary intelligence is sexy as hell!!!

VANESSA

Oh Matthew I forgot to mention I got your post card in the mail today!!! I forgot how exciting it is to get something besides junk mail or a bill! An unexpected surprise! It's amazing what the written word can do to make you feel warm & fuzzy whether it's in the form of a poem or a post card!! I got to experience BOTH today. I was doubly delighted!😊😁🤗🥰💜😘

toweraudios
>>69681883

💜Jane! How did you make hate the highest compliment there? 🥰That is so weirdly heart-warming and oddly true. I know exactly what you mean. Now I just wanna love slap you back. (I'll have to save the typing the document of poems for a rainy day sorry! They're literally all over the place in actual books and I'd have to type many of them up, but I'll see if any are online - I'd assume the cummings ones are! 😘xx

toweraudios
>>69686707

Ha - what serendipity 💜LL! And thank-you for giving me the opportunity to use one of my favourite words... 😉😘

Hey MT! This was an excellent and eloquent relaxing ASMR for the group. The poems were divine and the imagery of Pablo Neruda Love Sonnet 11gave me chills! The poems were like beautiful crafted jewelry - something to behold when looking from afar. That's how I look at you Matthew. You're this brilliant light source - a Quasar to be exact in our galaxy. You're young and new, feeding off the matter at your core (your audience - the dark matter), and you just outshine all other galaxies in the Universe. The amount of energy that you expound to create these narratives every week always blows my mind! To have your audios reach parts of the world to literally light up someone world with your tales is so blinding - full of thought and care is astounding! You sit on the edge of the Universe - your fresh, youthful imagination that expands beyond mere mortals comprehension. Does anyone else write poems to calm there minds? I do. Does anyone write poems for their soulmate? I do. Been writing them since I was 12 years old.(I'm a rare breed of fish) Loved this, love you 🧡 ! You get me (and the Belles) everytime! 😭🥰😘 - PQ 🐟👑

toweraudios
>>69688759

🦋🦋🦋😅🦋🦋🦋Oh no, my blanket is just fluffy! And 😂🤣😂🤣- the TV!!! That bit you’re quoting was from a couple of extracts of Anais Nin’s ‘The Delta of Venus’. I must talk about a few of my fav Shakespeare poems sometime too, but they’re a bit more heavy and complicated huh? My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun… When my love swears that she is made of truth… thanks for the chuckle Vanessa😁 💜

toweraudios
>>69692423

Yay!!💜 It got through!! 🤗🥰It seems like I sent that a lifetime ago! But totally - it's such a nice lift to get something that's purely for the sake of saying hey - hope you're well! 😁😊😌

Katie

Mmm your asmr — like a warm soak for the mind. 😍 & Just like the water of a warm soak in the tub finds all the crevices of our bodies we forget about, your inflection hits me with just the right words in just the right ways, and I can’t help but compliment those tingles with touches. Thank you for all the mental touches tonight under your fluffy blanket.❤️ Now I have some tingles attend to 😘

toweraudios
>>69694853

PQ!! 💜🐟👑I'm not sure I'm worthy of such a celestial description but thank-you soo much. I'm seeing jewels in the sky after reading that... And you write poetry? Yes - as you say - I'm sure others will too, and I've wanted to post a talent show type-thing so we can get to see this kind of thing from everyone... Like a poem, a song, a piece of art, any form of expression... And now I've just realised the best would be in the next "Inside the Turret" update. Thanks for the prompt! xx

toweraudios
>>69695448

Katie, why is my brain making up a silly song after reading that?. A little tingle... a little touchie... a little tingle... a little touch.... 💜😂😘xx

Katja

Hi! These are beautiful. As I was listening it started pouring and it made it even more special. Really felt Iike I was on a ferry ride. Some of the poems are very dear to me as well. I actually had to pause at I Carry Your Heart With Me and Love Sonnet 11 to take a deep breath because it still hurts me to read or hear them since they remind me of someone I loved very much but had to part ways with. Who would've thought that a man's voice on the other side of the world would probe at my insides like this (I don't know the adequate expression in english and this seems too literal haha)... Thank you for touching me with your mind. I'd like to share a poem too. I had to translate it so I don't know if it sounds unnatural in English but I tried my best. I noticed Croatian uses punctuation very differently from English and that there are syntagms characteristic of our literature that can't be really translated. Thank you also for that discovery haha. The poem is called Longing by Vesna Parun and I think it fits here quite well. Today, I will give you, when the night falls, in the humble lights of candles and chandeliers, in the pureness of my soul, once hollow, a whole bundle of flowers. Twilight will be in the room, gentle like your heart, twilight made for a deep slumber. On the bright windows, colors will burst, in that fresh moment of first cognition... Everything will be more; more beautiful, more fond, the night that falls, the world that peacefully rests, the long, dead field which carries the scent of sparse and stunted grass... And so in the midst of flowers, we will be alone... In that moment, like torrents of rain, a shy whisper will be spilled, in the blissful darkness, along with words that smell of spring...

Venusinaphrodite_

Since you liked the Poindexter line I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. And don't make fun of me ok🙈😂 (it's also gonna be a hack for the Belles also) Ok so if I listen to the sleep-aid with your heartbeat, the trick is I listen to it laying on my tummy slightly propped on my right side, with my head turned so I have my ear to my pillow. It sounds like my head is on your chest and I can hear you asleep above me. I do it everytime I have a nightmare or feel anxious. It always makes me feel safe enough to sleep. I close my eyes and focus on your heartbeat and your breathing. It's why that poem resonates soo strongly for me.

Sall

I loved the poetry in your voice. Could not tell if had fallen in Orpheus arms or in yours. It was perfect.

toweraudios
>>69699757

💜Katja - that reads like an amazing translation to me! I love how everything in the poem is muted and dim, whispery, except for the light on the flowers ✨💐✨. It’s a total explosion of colour everything is gathered around - maybe hinting at what’s to come between them. Well, we all know that feeling of spring fever… And thanks for introducing me to syntagms - I did a little semiotics in philosophy class but never came across the concept. And ha - maybe you'll let me probe at your insides in a different way on Friday! 😉xx

toweraudios
>>69702711

K! That is too lovely. The connection to the poem, but also it just feels crazy special to me that the 💓heartbeat audio is a go-to at times like that. And yes! You noticed that it's recorded binaurally! The heartbeat is a little more in one ear and my breathing is more in the other, just like you've described...🥰xx

toweraudios
>>69732062

Hey 💜Sall! Welcome again to the team! I'm glad you liked them... now where did I leave my lyre? ...😘xx

Ann

I have not heard the audio yet. Well not past the first 2 to 5 minutes. I was so looking forward to relaxing and hearing the beauty but I fell asleep. At 1:00 am. I woke and thought ‘damn’ and tried again. I still have not heard the audio yet. I am continuously thanking you Matthew for my sleep which has been the greatest gift I have received next to my children and my life. Thank you. 🤗💜 Tower Belles you continue to amaze me with your grace, depth, and beauty. The poetry you have introduced has moved me to laughter and tears. This is an amazing place. I hope tonight I hear the audio but I am not holding my breath. I am so tired. This weekend after a strong cup of coffee and sitting in a stiff chair, I will try to listen. Don’t get me wrong I will try tonight but… Thank you EVERYONE this has been so good for my soul. 💜💜💜💜🤗🤗🤗

Titania

This is cozy and wonderful! Thank you, you beautiful human! The second e.e. cummings is one of my favorites. Could you do me a big favor and list the titles and poets? My auditory processing is not yet recovered to the level of poetry, and I'd really like to read the poems to make sure I heard them correctly. I found the cummings, Williams, Neruda and Goethe ones already. Thanks. Every week there's something new to think and feel about: long vs. short erotica, audio vs. video, the role of anticipation and tension, NZ musicians, traditions and geography, DDlg dynamics, vocal timbre and pacing, where the heck all these obscure emojis come from, what makes something a dad joke, kinks, arousal brakes and accelerators, online community dynamics, relative benefit of one more orgasm vs. more sleep, and today, poetry. And so much more. *happy sigh* Every time you melt my heart and prod my brain. So good. Thank you! 💙💚💛

Titania

Thank you, everyone, for sharing for favorite poetry. I am so enjoying it.

toweraudios
>>69741479

I hope it takes you ten years to hear the whole audio then! I'm so glad I can help you drift off Ann! Snuggles from NZ. 💜xx

toweraudios
>>69742490

Thanks Titania - I really thought a lot of people might pass over this one so I'm really glad to see the discussion and read a whole bunch of new poetry I hadn't heard of! 💜💙💚💛The poems are - forgive me if I get the order wrong - The encounter by Louise Gluck , WCW The Arrival,, After Making Love In Winter by Sharon Olds, ee cummings [I carry your heart with me[I carry it in] and XVII, Echo by Carol Ann Duffy, Pablo Neruda's Love Sonnet 11, Some of my favorite passages from Anais Nin’s Delta of Venus, And Goethe's Die Schöne Nacht as translated by John Nims. 😘xx

Alaina

Being new to your page I absolutely did not know what to expect when subscribing and WOW WOW WOW this was so wonderful, Matthew! I had a stressful work-day and my “un-wind time” is usually listening to music while cooking dinner and tonight instead of music I put this on in my headphones and I don’t think I’ve ever been more relaxed! I am also so enjoying everyone’s recommendations in the comments. What a wonderful community this is! I cannot wait to get to the bookstore this weekend and pick up some of your recommendations. Thank you thank you thank you!! ❤️❤️

Ann
>>69748258

Welcome Alaina. So happy you have discovered Matthews world. It is pretty great 😃

VANESSA

So Matt what do you have planned for Friday?! Naughtiness I know....but what specifically will you be doing to me? 😄😆🤣 I need to get off this sad tip & on your tip again.

Emily Dawn

I’ve always loved poetry. 💗 The Poet Speaks to His Love on the Telephone by Federico García Lorca “In its sweet housing of wood Your voice watered the sand-dune of my heart. To the south of my feet it was Spring, north of my brow bracken in flower. Down tight space a pine tree of light sang without dawn or seedbed. and for the first time my lament strung crowns of hope across the roof. Sweet distant voice poured for me. Sweet distant voice savoured by me. Sweet distant voice, dying away. Distant as a dark wounded doe. Sweet as a sob in snow. Sweet and distant, in the very marrow!”

toweraudios
>>69811982

Thanks Emily! 🙏🏻These images are so elusive to me but I still really enjoyed the whole in terms of it's impression of feeling the pain of distance (in the very marrow!). What is the significance of spring and the 'crowns of hope across the roof'? Hmmm. Perhaps something was lost in translation or I'm asking the wrong question. I loved the alliteration of 'Distant as a dark wounded doe'. High fives to the translator there - that's a beautiful rendering of an image, huh... 😌xx

toweraudios

Heey - thank-you so much for taking the time to comment or read the discussions on this post. Although I can’t reply to new comments here now, I’ll still be returning to read and 💜 them from time-to-time, so even if you feel a bit late to the party please say hi! Much love, 🧔🏻💐Matthew

FFSWhatudoin2me (K)

Remembering you replying to me in LITTLE LIGHTS IN THE DARK… saying you thought you’d like to do reading of some of your fave poems. And I’d said that was a great idea. Voila… 💛💜😘 Snuggled against my cotton “smelly”… my mind drifting to warm sea breezes wafting across our faces from the sweet caress of the night air… my smile as soon as you start… and at the wonderful intonations… the variations in your breathiness… your cadence… the way they pepper their usual magic over my senses… as I listen to the prose from your lips. You already know I adore the time and energy and mindfulness you put into the little details, layer upon layer… 👌🏾💜 So nice to have missed this… to now immerse myself in it again… 😌 ✨✨✨✨✨✨ 🔆 The Encounter is so sensual… the imagery… the awakening it evokes, yet also bringing such calm and serenity in the reassurance of connection… 🔆 Aww… Arrival must have been so timely @ descriptions of the natural environment… before your trip to Queenstown. 🏞 Also made me think of the movie. 🙂 Have you seen it? So lovely… and powerfully reflective on a number of levels. Some of my fave actors. ⭐️ Love this song from the soundtrack: 🎵 Heptapod B - Jóhann Jóhannsson ⚡️ I was getting more into it when you suddenly stopped… “like a winter wind.” Apt for the weather vibe over here. That’s a really short one. 🙂💜 🔆 After making love in winter… when you got to this one I started thinking - 💭 I like the sequence you’re reading them in. Then… 💭 knowing Matt, he’s given thought to this… and gals like me are gonna notice. Said it before and I’ll say it again - 💜 your mind. The realness of the contrast of body heat and adrenaline, against the cold that surrounds. “Like blooms of fire.” 💜 🔆 E E Cummings 😉 … 😃 @ your “a flirtation of a poem really.” The way you introduced these two took me right back to the overriding theme of the audio NOBODY CAN MINDFUCK EACH OTHER LIKE WE CAN How distance isn’t a barrier to connecting with the mind. 17 - “Shyly obscene.” So me 😀🙃 I Carry Your Heart With Me - aww this is a beautiful one. I know it. And it takes me back to the essence of LITTLE LIGHTS IN THE DARK… and the warmth I felt listening to you and watching the precious snippets of your world. 🔆 The page turning prevented me from hearing the title of that one by Carol Anne Duffy. “… searching for treasures or stones in the clearest of pools…” … my mind started going back to THE LITTLE MERMAID audio. And then to one of my go-to’s when I’m writing my musings… @ pools of need. 😍 🔆 Love Sonnet 11… “your hair…” made me smile cuz I do love snuggling and smelling hair. 🙂 “Silent and starving I prowl through the streets…” … couldn’t help but think of A Discovery of Witches (ADoW) and some of the characters. Love that show. ❤️ The way you stressed the “all day” in - “Dawn disrupts me all day.” 😍⚡️ OMG yup… as you read on… SO giving me ADoW vibes. Love it. Your chuckle after “… arrogant face”. 😀😍💜 At the end - me: 💭 Wait what? … ⏪ Still can’t make it out, so I look forward to seeing it in print. Sounds like a foreign language. 🔆 “The next piece isn’t a poem but I think the lines are very poetic.” Me: 💭😏 is it gonna be funny or quite moving…? You never know with MLM. 😀 ➡️ Transported to voyeur land… and then to memories of visuals evoked in BAD SEX THERAPIST 3 Can see why these are some of your faves… 👌🏾💜 “… soldered to her, from mouth to feet…” 🔥💥 🔆 😏 was that title in German @ translation to Beautiful night ? “… the moon peers through a bush…” Think I heard mention of the sun…? ➡️ takes me back to the FAIRGROUND LOVE STORY and the story you told about their love… 🙂 Rich summer nights are wonderful… 🌄🌃 “… rapture I can hardly cope with…” 💜🔥 “… trade them by the thousand for a single night with her.” 💜 Aww… So nice that someone located them and did screen shots. 🙏🏾✨ Will have a look later. The turning of pages… fading into quiet… and then stillness… 🙂 The detail… 💜 Thank you… this week has been so back to back and pffft at times… this was so beautifully relaxing and immersive. Was meant to listen to it now. 💛 K 💜 P.S. When I think I’m gonna be making shorter comments this time round but 😀🤦🏾‍♀️😁 Can’t help it 💛BBB💜 is in my blood…! You’ll probably read this in about a month. 😀👍🏾

aleigh -`♡´-

fell asleep to this the other night you dreamboat 🥰💗
