Probably because got her throat clawed out AKA being turned from a "scratch" which in season 1 they thought Jackson was the second beta because of the claw marks on the back of his neck from Derek (before he was an Alpha.) Which makes 2 ways to be turned you can be turned. 1 by bite and 2. From a scratch if the claws go deep enough.

Yeah, Stiles as a human is better. He is the only human in the main cast and (unlike Matt) he is still useful, sometimes more than the supernatural ones. I feel like because he is human, he has to be smart and stay sharp, and if they had turned him into a werewolf, they would focus more on that than his intellect.

I agree. He definitely would have been a great werewolf. I just know, tho, they would've done the same thing to him they did with Lydia. If you notice as the seasons go on, she becomes less genius Lydia and more banshee Lydia. She suffers from the same thing Bonnie suffers (dont know if you've watched TVD), albeit to a lesser extent cause the showrunners didn't hate the actress.

I'm thinking Danny figured it out after the whole Jackson ordeal? Maybe he looked up the history of the town at that point, because I think I recall Deaton saying it had been a beacon to supernatural creatures in the past, and would be again. So maybe there was enough weirdness going on that Danny figured it out, especially if he wasn't a skeptic anyway. That's the explanation I came up with, anyway.
