I am loving that Don is ragging on the romance; it's making me laugh, and I agree so much. For me, the romance part of this series is background noise. I don't care about it, and it's not why I watch the show, why I like it. There's been a couple of romance pairings as time goes on that I could appreciate, but this whole grand Stefan/Elena (Stelena?) thing never got my motor revving, LOL.

This!!! I used to make fun of my homies for watchin this thinkin it was all b.s romance and stuff only to find out the lore in this show is Superb, I absolutely am a sucker for brotherly dynamics (like SPN), the acting is amazing, the pacing is well done and as you said they do a great job of turning the Romance of this show into background noise while the real shit hits the fan. Im so glad I actually tried this show and didn’t let my judgements hinder me

At this point u only see things from Stefans point of view (and Elena's through Stefans LIES) so to say there was no reason for what Damon did to Lexi (aside from the one u ignored about offering up a vampire to get the council off his and Stefan's trail) is crazy! Also, this is one of the main things I hate about this show I love so much, it is constantly telling the audience that Stefan is pure and good and always has been while Damon is and always has been nothing but evil. Yet what we see is the opposite.

This episode Stefan literally admits to stalking Elena for MONTHS! Which for the record is one of the many lies he has spewed since the start of season 1, along with the fact that Elena looks like his ex and many more!
