@RavenLord Yh i was apathetic towards her character during the first few seasons (not hating or loving just fine with her) but then i found her presence to be progressively annoying. This iteration saved her character for me gave me sum different, if i can recall

Crazy thing is Elena has no excuses tbh with her emotions off. Like if she tries to make peace once she’s all normal again it’s gonna be so aggravating. Because even when Damon and Stefan had their emotions off they still felt shit. Like Stefan was the ripper working with Klaus and was still doing shit to look out for Damon and Elena. She’s SO toxic it’s insane and I never realized it the first time I watched the show

For young/new vamps they can fully separate emotion and non-emotions. The older they get meaning the longer they live its harder to REALLY REALLY turn it off.

Silas story has a lot of holes in it. They never said he was a vampire. The spell that was cast on him was for immortality not vampirism. He was made an immortal witch, not a vampire. But now all of a sudden he is a vampire and needs to feed, and not a witch/warlock. How? When? Why? They never said he turned into a vampire. It just became part of the story with no explanation.

when Silas was made immortal he needs blood as stated in the show that blood is the lifeforce of an immortal and when he turned immortal he lost his witch abilities but gained strong mental powers.
