New community audio project - get involved! (Patreon)

here’s a new exciting project that I’d love to have you involved with. In the past we’ve had video demos where you (Patreon supporters  send in audio to be used and processed with new modules. We did this with both the Audio Gear Obsession DYNAMICENGINE and the SoundForce Chorus 6 modules. Well … I’d love to do that again. 

Releasing soon is a new sample based module. It’s simple stuff with multiple channels that are triggered with no extra control. But there’s a few tricks. With that in mind it’s perfect for drums, but it can also play back longer files, so ambient sound beds, specific tempo locked rhythmic things, long audio drones to gate and chop or even multi sample round robin style stuff is possible. With that in mind I’d love sounds from you to use in the video, with credit to you like in the examples and previous videos above.

The audio should be

- 44.1kHz and 16 bit. - wav format- labelled properly and in folders as a bank of sounds, see below*

The audio can be

- drum/percussion focussed, I’d love a load of your drum hits to try out- rhythm free ambient textures and sound beds- drones well suited to simple long playback or for gated chopping- stereo wav files with mono audio (same on both sides)- stereo wav files with stereo material (specifically mark the file name as STEREO so I know to use it that way)- multi-samples for round robins, so if you have say a kick snare and then 6 hi hat samples with different sounds/velocities etc that’s perfect.

Deadline & submission

- I need these files no later Wednesday the 24th of April- please email ben@divkidvideo.com with the subject “PATREON AUDIO SUBMISSION” be sure to include your name (or artist name however you want crediting in the video if the files are used) and a link to the files, dropbox, google drive, wetransfer is fine. Please do not attach files to the email.

*File management / banks etc

So this module has up to 5 samples playing on different mono channels at the same time. It will take stereo 44.1kHz 16 bit wav files (so simple, normal audio, easy for you to put together) and use one side of that to play back on a mono channel. 

It can be set to use two channels for stereo, so if you specifically want a stereo sample to be used (make sure to label the file STEREO so I know to use it that way). 

I’ll worry about making banks of sounds, if you sent a kick, snare, two hi hats and a rim shot I’ll put those into a bank and onto the module. You’re welcome to make folders as banks in the files you send to make it easy but don’t worry about it too much.  

If the files are meant to be a single channel round robin, please label them like this ... if you're calling the sound "bass hit" - 1a_Bass Hit 1, 1b_Bass Hit 2, 1c_Bass Hit 3 etc
