COMMUNITY PROJECT // your sounds in a time machine! (Patreon)
Content
Hello,
hope you're well and having a good end to the weekend. As I moved closer to the upcoming fulsome demo on the OAM Time Machine module I'm opening up the demo to include you and your sounds. I've been talking about this for the past few posts and this is something we've done before. See the links below for examples of previous videos.
The concept is simple, you send in your audio, as laid out below, I run that into the module, use it as a musical interlude in the video with credit to you on screen for the sound. You get to hear your sounds through the module and the video has a wider palette of sounds and examples to present to everyone.
If you're curious about the OAM Time Machine here's a first patch video, there's the new video above, Tom Churchill made a nice video and there's of course the OAM website. But basically it's a multi tap delay, so think about things that sound good in delays ... (everything?!? I have a delay problem!)

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Apologies to be blunt here but IF YOU DO NOT STICK TO THE POINTS HERE IT'S HIGHLY LIKELY I WILL NOT USE YOUR AUDIO
Create your audio // ideally this is something that can loop. So I can leave it running and play around over the top. But it doesn't have to be a set loop to a tempo (4 bars of 110bpm etc) if the sound fades up and down I can work around that. I will loop the audio accordingly , so short sounds/patterns can work well.
Note down your BPM // if you're working to a BPM, tell me the bpm in the email so I can clock the Time Machine at the same bpm. It's not crucial if you're giving it your best free running ambient soundscape, I'll just set delay times to taste.
Export your audio as a wav file at 48kHz (sample rate) and 16 or 24 bit (bit depth) // I WILL NOT use anything else, so please only export this file type and these settings. That might sound a bit militant but with how I record demos I have no room for variation on this. I use Logic (DAW) for audio and going outside of the set sample rate can cause crashes.
Think about how your want crediting // as with previous videos like this I will credit your name on screen and I can add a link to a site/profile of choice in the video description. So think about if you want real name, user names, artist names and what link (website, YouTube channel, Instagram etc) you want me to use.
Email me with the right details // email me at ben@divkidvideo.com, please DO NOT attach audio files to the email, use a service like Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive etc where I can access the file immediately from your link, make sure access is open with the link you provide and downloading that file is enabled. Please use the 'OAM' at the start of your email subject, then in the email link your file, note down your BPM if applicable, then add in the name and link you'd like credit with. Also - please don't use an upload service where the file will expire in a short period of time.
DEADLINE
I need your files in 2 weeks time. That is Sunday the 21st of July. The video demo will come the week after.
As always any questions just ask, I hope you can get involved as it's always a fun thing and something I'm wanting to do more of.
