Hello all,

first of all thank you for everyone that played along guessing what this module could be and who it was made with, going along with the handful of teasers we've had the past few days. That's been good fun and we had some great guesses too!

So here's TRACE. The latest DivKid module, this time made with Vostok Instruments. I'd have ideas of scanning and some other crossfading types ideas for some time and when I say the interpolating scanner in the quad filter 'Atlas' (from Vostok Instruments) I knew we had to do this together to distil the ideas down to something small, simple yet playful and powerful.

This is out now around the good stores of the world, priced around £130 inc VAT UK, €130 ex VAT Europe and $130 pre sales tax USA. If you can't find it in a store near you ask them to get them for you.

Plenty of info in the video, the patches from the video are documented in the manual which is on the Vostok site. https://www.vostokinstruments.com/trace

Leave comments with suggestions/requests for patch examples with Trace on the video and chat in the Discord.

As always thanks for the support and see you soon!

Waveform Scanning & Modulation Morphing // Trace by DivKid & Vostok Instruments

Meet Trace! The latest DivKid module this time made in collaboration with Vostok Instruments. Trace is a 4HP, all analogue, interpolating/morphing scanner. It takes 4 inputs, morphs through them and outputs that scanned signal. It works with audio and/or CV inputs and the scan CV input takes CV or audio rate scanning too. The 4 patches in this announcement demo are documented in the manual which you can find here // https://www.vostokinstruments.com/trace We have lots more content to come with Trace as it’s proving a powerful ‘expander’ to bring out new sounds and new modulation behaviours and control from lots of other modules. If you have requests/suggestions leave them in the comments and we’ll explore those for future videos. Seems well worth investing 4hp in this- good job Ben!

Nice features at a great price point! Everyone should have a few interp. scanners and this looks like an excellent option. Quick q about a very small detail: obv. the audio path is fully analog, but is the control signal [meaning (Scan CV Input * Atten * Mode) + Fader] getting ADC'd and driving a microcontroller that sends CV to the 4x VCAs, or is the preprocessing and distribution to the VCAs also fully analog? Forgive me if this is specified somewhere; couldn't find it. Only matters in incredibly specific applications. By the way, off topic for today, but I'm absolutely loving Manic! :) Your roster of collabs is getting very impressive.

The first example reminds me of a Roldand SH101 and takes me right back to my youf... Thanx Ben! P.S. Congrats on your gettin´hitched!
