Hello hello, hope you're well.

Today Vostok Instruments have released Hive a stereo mixer module that's both a Eurorack module as you'd expect and also in VCV Rack, along with all their other modules in VCV Rack.

With the opportunity to demo Hive I went with my usual method of - make the video packed with patch tips and ideas broadly applicable to lots of modules and just not the one on show, while using the one on show. It's a demo format/theme I like, I appreciate many of you have highlighted that as what you get from my demos too, thank you!

There's all sorts in the video from layered approaches to voices and FX, reinforcing thick low end rhythms in techno and sinking in bass against a kick to do so, using pan controls as VCAs, pan as FX send routing, panning as a stereo wave shaper, making audio rate modulation musical and plenty more. I hope some of the patches lead to good results with things you try in your systems.

I also mention in the video that I'll share the VCV Rack patch here on Patreon while HERE IT IS (DivKid Patreon Drive link, should go direct to the downloadable file). I've also added the VCV patch as an attachment to this post. It's far from a tidy VCV patch without the note files and information I've shared before when I've made patches available. So please use our Discord server to discuss the patch and ask questions if you have any.

I'm also really glad people can now easily try Trace & Path (my collaboration modules with Vostok) in VCV for free. Let me know if you end up using them.

For all of those going to Knobcon, say hello from me and our community, meet up, share pictures in the Discord and let us know how the event goes. I'll be at the Dutch Modular Festival on Saturday instead, armed with stickers to give away so if you're going come ask me for some, I'll be around all day pretty much.

Back next week with more and see you in the Discord!
