Hello all, happy easter, happy sunday, happy egg day, happy jesus rising through caves of wonder to be born again ... I clearly have no concept of what today is about so have a good Sunday whatever you're doing :)

I just wanted to make a post to say that I'm currently filming an in depth look at Marbles. Trying to leave no stone unturned and make sure I explore everything I have a tonne of notes and a lot of filming and one LOOOOOOOOONG video to come this following week.

I wanted to ask if there was anything you wanted to see from Marbles? Either a question that needs answering, a specific patch or feature to make sure I cover. So fire away!

Of course you can just wait and see what I do but as I'm working on a this one big in depth thing it's unlikely I'll go back and make follow up videos. So hit me with feedback, thoughts, ideas and we can talk about them and get some in the video.

Cheers!

Oh ... and I'll be live tonight at 8pm UK/GMT here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pmanzi2yHcs - for a composers round table chat with artists on the Tone Science Volume One release.

Definitely would like to see some self patching; maybe some integration with older MI modules a la Rings, Clouds etc; I love to hear it at audio rate too but that’s just me haha.

I've been toying with the idea of "training" Marbles on something else generative, like a melody from a Turing Machine or Ornament and Crime, so that you could create song progressions with the Steps and Bias knobs that are still generative at all steps in the process. It's hard to demo that quickly in what must already be a massive video, but I think it might be cool if you have some space to fill. :)

Thanks for the sacrifice for our benefit

I would like see the processing of external sequenced cv pitch information and the possibilities to alter these melodies. Looking forward to your video.

We like random sample and hold as a tool for infecting life around a patch.

DivKid ... LOL, Anything and EVERYTHING. Have not gotten my hands on Marbles yet since it has been pre-ordered; but, i know there will be questions later. Off topic ... i find the work that you are doing to be one of my greatest resources! Thanks a million and Happy Easter.

I'd just like to see what you could do with that left side other than trigger drums. Not really a feature review - more of just what your ideas would be. Triggering envelopes for the right side CVs? Triggering delays or other effects? Triggering a Freez? Would just like to hear/see what you think (at least I can get my hands on one!).

For me, what does it do that nothing else does? I've been thinking of Pulsar or Chance as sources of random (which is what I *think* Marbles does) but is Marbles a better choice, different, stronger in some areas, weaker in others? Not asking for the farm, but what is it about Marbles that is likely to make someone opt for it and not others?

When i saw the first vids of Marbles thought that it would be great to create variations of a sequence in a live context and then going back to normal. It'd be nice if you could explore some ways to screw up a sequence :)

what's the quantisation limits? how easy is that side it to use in live situation. And kinda off topic, have you got the clouds replacement yet? and will it be called "rain"? ;-)

I would aldo like to know how it compares to the Turing machine and its expanders. And perhaps also to URA and Chances.

I sense that, like the Turing Machine, clocking drives everything in Marbles, but that it’s a more complex situation than in the Turing Machine. I hope you can make clear how clocking expresses itself (internal and external).

The two things sticking in my brain after your initial, very useful demo are: - How "logical" are the progressions on trigger density & patterns? I use Grids and like it a lot, but sometimes the progressions seem a little...non-intuitive, compared to what I might expect a drummer to do to add to or subtract from a groove. - How closely tied are the random voltages to the random gates? How much control does the user have over coordinating or de-coupling them? (I like the "correlation" feature of SAPÉL, and am curious if there is something similar in Marbles.)

Something that occurred to me that might be interesting - the interplay between Marbles Pithoprakta. Interesting to see the feedback between the random gates.

Understanding the differences between random voltage modules would be really cool. Maybe as a follow up after introducing marbles. Spark vs marbles vs TM vs ...
