Hello hello hello

Whether you celebrate Christmas or not I hope you all get chance to rest and have a nice end to the year. I'm on wind sown today and will be taking a few days to spend time with family and recharge and unwind. I've made sure to get Red Dead Redemption 2 and I have it in mind that I'll spend some time playing that before the new year. Whether that happens or not we'll see. But I'm telling myself to stop and chill out for a bit.

I've got lots of updates for the new year, including leaving some more work to further pursue video (massively support and enabled by the amazing support here). Some more one to one tutorial sessions (and catching up and making these regular with existing pledge levels). I'll have some new sticker packs, new perks for you all and plenty more.

Onto why 'I NEED YOU' (beyond trying to make an engaging title to make you read this) ... I have a new 6U 84hp travel case (in a nice cream tolex hence the image for the post) and I'll be making some video to show the case off and I wanted to ask you all what modules you'd like to see in it. You can go buy anything you've ever seen me demo, heard me talk about, or seen in my set up. You can of course request anything at all you'd like to see. The video will be aiming to show of the case but of course I need to fill it and get some nice patches in the video too.

I've made a form with Google Forms for you to use here - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd8bKVbd2I2tvMGjmKtxB3y9JY5egJA555TuAZ-XCG5MuMZ_A/viewform?usp=sf_link - please add module name and company name to it, or just comment here and I'll go through the thread. I'll do a round up thread to bring it all together with you all before I get to work on the video in January too.

Also feel free to suggest patches or collections of modules, there's 6U of 84hp to fill.

Have a great end to the year everyone, thank you for the support and I'll be in touch again soon.

Merry Christmas Ben! Glad to hear you're taking some time off over the holidays - Red Dead Redemption sounds well and truly mint! I hope to catch up with it in about 18 years, when the kids have left home, and I get any semblance of free time back again...! Module-wise, I'm fairly agnostic, but having heard you talk about AM synthesis with Sonic Talk and Nathan Moody recently, I'd love to learn some techniques for this, so maybe an oscillator or two that help showcase this?

Oh thank you Ben,but i think you already made vids about the modules i was askin4. Its just the doepfer A143-1,that i have not really understood...Because i thought it was Chris from learning modular,...but no...it was you ..sorry!...I was askin for Mutable Stages and Frames but i think you did it already;.im goin back to watch them again n again, carefully.

Control Forge is one that comes to mind :) --- if you posted your ModularGrid setup this would be a lot easier.

Hope you had a good Xmas with the wifey and daughter Ben! Instead of posting modules I thought of I just pasted my module list I own. Hope it helps. There are a few doubles, because I own doubles.

Morning Ben, Hope you've been enjoying your break from synths and module videos. One of the few modules I would have liked to see you review and, therefore , think you might work into your new case, is the Instruo CsL (yes, I know you have, and have reviewed, both the TsL and Troika so maybe that's your reason for not having a CsL). I confess this is, at least in part, driven by self-interest as I have one and am still trying to get to grips with it based on Jason's original video! Another one that springs to mind is the Xaoc Devices Odessa but, as that's very new (maybe not even formally released yet?) then this may be something you already have planned to acquire/review. The only other one would be the Doepfer A127 Triple Resonant Filter given I know you like playing with vowel sounds. I'm pretty certain I've seen one in your rack already in the background on various videos but I also appreciate that it's rather a large module in comparison to the 2hp Vowel! Also, again declaring self-interest, I'd like to see a comparison between the A127 and the Vowel at some stage ... ;-) Cheers & HNY, Dave

I'm late to the game- as usual- but I'm going to chuck in my favourite, the Tonestar 2600.

I think so; it was that video which pointed me at the Tonestar, as at the time I had been looking at the Pittsburgh SV1 or the Xaoc KarlMarxStadt as single complete voices. I was reading a lot of negative reports about the SV1s build quality on MW at that time ( I think they've been resolved since then ) so that went, and I couldn't find any demos or reviews of the KMS. I love the Tonestar, it sounds great, build quality is first class and it plays well with others.
