NEW VIDEO & long overdue updates (Patreon)
Content
Hello,
I hope you're all doing well. Things have been ... interesting ... my end shall we say and I'm sure for many my absence the past few weeks has been noted. I'll discuss that briefly below for those that are interested but today I have a new video for ONA, the new VCO from NANO Modules. All the details for that are below.
The short version of my absence is really summarised by on going construction with the house, family living between two places due to work on the house and a whole load of "life stuff". Life stuff we all go through but a lot of it all at once. My work and sleep patterns have been somewhat nocturnal while also having to be up early for builders each day. Which I have to admit has totally gotten the better of me lately, sleep is important - who knew!?. This isn't a pity party, but I feel for those of you that go out of your way to support me you deserve a little bit of insight. We'll discuss and chat in the Discord channels which I will be back into regularly to keep up with you very soon.
A note of Discord ... while knee deep in piling notifications and things I haven't been able to keep up with it's been wonderful to see you all (this community) so active and engaged with each other in our Discord channel. Having your support and just feeling like I'm part of what you're all doing, engaging with, creating, sharing and discussing is amazing. So thank you to you all for continuing things together in my absence.
If you're a new supporter here - THANK YOU! As noted here things have been quiet from my side of things but I'll be working back up to a normal pace of updates, in the Discord regularly and lots more new videos. If you're not on Discord, make a free account, link that account to your Patreon as per this link - https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/212052266-Get-my-Discord-role - and join our community server (it happens automatically). Lots of good people in there.
For those curious about the house and the new studio build we're very close. I would imagine you're all less interested in the kitchen and more interested in the new studio so ... current studio job has been building a frame to mount on the ceiling which I can clamp lights and cameras to for video work. It's going to make a HUGE difference in getting tripods and stands off the floor. Once that's painted (with floor paint, so it takes the scuffs and wear of mounting clamps on and off of it) it will be mounted on the dropped ceiling in the studio. Then the next studio build job will be building the desks, which I'm aiming to have done this side of Christmas. I won't be fully in the new studio space for a good while but I'll keep you all up to date with progress and I'm trying to document each stage for studio build videos in the future.
Chat soon in the Discord and back soon with more videos.
VIDEO DETAILS
Here’s the new analogue oscillator (VCO) Eurorack module ‘ONA’ from NANO Modules. ONA is 8HP with both classic waveforms plus subs and complex modulate-able waveforms. There’s also sync, FM and PWM all of which are explored in the video. As usual my aim is to showcase raw sound and features then deep dive into patch tips, synthesis and musical ideas so there’s lots of patches, all listed and clickable below.
