Hello, hope you're well.

Here's a post outlining a few things happening very soon, discussing some things that just happened and keeping you up to date on all things from the land of Div.

I hope you like my best Liam Neeson impression in the image above, if you too like making stupid images with DivKid heads let me know, I'm collecting up odd graphics to use for things.

KNOBCON VIDEOS //

I'm currently working through the collection of videos from Knobcon and I will have those going online starting this week. Which video comes first and on what day I'm not exactly sure. But the general theme will be getting things online, somewhat in bulk (similar to a Sonic State event video dump) as I have lots of other things to come this month and I don't want to cloud other videos with event videos. Also Knobcon has passed, so it's good to just get it up ASAP.

It's also a good time to mention and thank some sponsors that have supported the Knobcon videos, helping to cover expenses and make things like this much easier to do all round. We have Signal Sounds, Low-Gain Electronics, Befaco, Thonk, Future Sound Systems, Expert Sleepers and Steady State Fate. There's always a really supportive feel good factor among the community, making content and any sort of sponsorship. I hope that extends to you as a viewer and supporter, knowing that everyone is helping make things happen for each other, for the benefit of us all.

INSTRUO HQ TOUR //

This is set for a video premiere coming up on Sunday the 8th of October (the one coming) at 8pm UK time. That's 9pm central EU, 3pm east coast USA and 12pm midday west coast USA. Check the YouTube link HERE for the time in your location.

This video is an extensive tour of casa de Instruo, a magical place where dreams come true, like Disneyland for modular and music nerds. Joking aside the facilities are fantastic, it houses music studios, band rooms, modular/synth/gear design, testing and manufacturing spaces, cosy gaming and hangout spaces, a skylight sauna space and plenty more.

We'll have some other things to reveal from that trip (I didn't just go up to Glasgow to see Instruo to make this HQ tour) but for now join us in the video premiere to chat live with Jason and I ... then ...

COMMUNITY HANGOUT //

... join us right after in the Discord for an open community hangout, video chat/call style as we have done in the past. This will be roughly 8:45pm (again UK, 45 minutes after whatever time the Instruo HQ tour video starts for you). Jason will join me in the call and you're welcome to come and chat about the HQ tour, pester Jason for Arbhar v2 firmware info as they've been teasing that one and ask me anything, related to the Instruo stuff or otherwise. It's open inclusive and there for everyone as usual.

MACHINA BRISTRONICA & BRISTOL //

Wow! What a few days. I headed down to Bristol a couple of days before the event to see some local companies. I got to spend a morning presented with fine bakery goods and fine synthesisers with Jamie and Finlay from Future Sound Systems. They have some really nice things coming that we filmed a video about for the future. More on that when I can share it.

I then headed off to see Tom Bugs of Bugbrand who after a short break is back into making his synths and FX in his own format (BugBrand uses and builds upon Frac Rack which was a format that was around when Eurorack started, it uses 15V power, 3U height, inch divisions for width and all banana connectors). Tom has a great new phaser that sounded utterly lush on oscillators and pinged like a trooper! (do troopers ping?)

My day of conversations and video making rounded out with Jack from Beep Boop Electronics, he was showing me his latest tape works, new parts of tape machines he was designing and a CV based tape scrubbing Eurorack module that was scrubbing dictaphone cassettes with CVs too.

Leading into Machina Bristronica I was hosting 7 interviews on the DivKid stage (look mum I have a stage!) with Vostok Instruments, Schlappi Engineering, Joranalogue, Befaco, AMMT, Erica Synths and Auza. All 7 of those should be up with videos in the near future, I need the footage from the video team that ran the stage first before I can get into this though, that should be on its way to me soon.

I did (prior to the interviews) grab a quick walkthrough tour of the event, that video just went online, watch it here // https://youtu.be/IRDkiemwm9c

The event rounded up with great conversations and company across the wide and wonderful range of people that the Eurorack and synth scenes bring together. AtoVproject & Joranalogue Audio Design playing giant jenga in the hotel bar as a sort of laughable "engineering stand off" was a great end to the evening.

EXCLUSIVE PDF PATCH TECHNIQUE & NEW VIDEO //

Some of you may have seen that yesterday I posted a new update to all $5+ tier supporters that included a new exclusive PDF that outlines a patch technique that I really love as well as giving those supporters early access to a video on the same technique. In case you missed that click HERE. I'd also like to add $5 a month goes a long way to really boosting what we can do here, thank you for your support at this and other levels.

This video will go public later this week, but the PDF will remain a Patreon exclusive.

Patreon emailed me today to say it's my Patreon-niversary, which feels like a good reason to take stock and once again thank you for your support. It's thanks to this wonderful community that we can continue doing what we're doing.

That's it for now, watch out for all that's to come and I'll see you over in the Discord!
