Hey everyone, I wanted to touch base again about the upcoming payment change. If you missed the full rundown with all the details please read my previous post on the subject where I go into all that. If you don't have time for that much reading, here's the important stuff:

I am switching from a "per-creation" billing model to a "monthly subscription" billing model. This was not my decision, it is mandatory.

This change will either go into effect for your payment on June 1st or July 1st depending on how fast support gets back to me. I am shooting for June.

The amount you're paying per month WILL NOT CHANGE. I typically upload two pages a month, so I am keeping it simple and converting the $2 per page tier to a $4 per month tier, and the $3 per page tier to a $6 per month tier.

If you are a patron when the switch happens your billing date will remain on the 1st of the month, as always. If you join (or leave and rejoin) after the switch happens, your billing date will recur on the day you join instead.

If you have a monthly cap set for how much you can afford to payout, those WILL BE HONORED even after the switch, so long as your payment info doesn't change.

I am planning to get in touch with support very soon to get the ball rolling. My understanding is that the change should largely be seamless for patrons, but I will let you know if there's important details to share about the process on your guys' end.

Thanks for your patience in all this, I am hoping you all stick around through this little speed bump and that everything transfers smoothly into the new system. Lots of fun stuff ahead in the chapter, can't wait for you to see it!

Would update posts like this one also get charged extra?

Starcross Comics

There will be no additional charges, fees, or payments for any posts; patrons will only ever be charged a flat monthly amount going forward ($4/month or $6/month depending on your pledge tier), rather than the variable amount it had been previously.

You are correct, patrons are and always have been charged monthly. The only difference is that the amount a patron is charged will now be locked at a set price, rather than scaling depending on how many comic pages I produce in a given month. As I said, this change should be functionally unnoticeable for my patrons, I'm just making an effort to be clear that something *is* changing behind the scenes.
