Today is #TransVisibilityDay and i wanna take a moment to thank and congratulate all my sisters and brothers out there! You’re all valid, and no one can tell you otherwise. You’re way stronger than the hate you might face. You don’t have to transition to prove smb else who you’re.

I remember i was super shocked to learn that a trans girl ended her life because of the hate and backlash she faced after coming out. I was so sad that this lady had been led to end her life, because of the ignorance and hatred around her. This had to be an isolated case i said, But the more I investigated, the more i found out, it wasn’t. I was then struck with the reality that we were loosing young girls, and boys because of the environment they lived in, and it dawned on me. Media like tv& comics has always been the best way to share information, yet, There wasn’t a single trans character i could ever name drop. Not one! There wasn’t a single character a teen might look up and say, hey, she or he’s like me. Project shadow was just an idea at that time,but i knew i had to add Leleeah to the rooster, because she deserved more.

Leeleah is one of my favourite girls to draw, but it makes me real sad that a girl had to leave us for me to notice this issue.
