Fun stuff i want you to know about my OCs. Some types of sea dwellers bite their partners when they mate. SPECIALLY SHARKS, which can become too ravenous and actually hurt their mates. SOOO whenever a couple decides they’re ready to take the next step and mate (which in this universe would be the equivalent of getting married, cause u can do the do w/o formalities don’t worry) if you have found your one and only soulmate if you’re extremely happy you would shed petals from your hair. Petals in the same colour of your Mate’s scales or skin.... mostly cause i needed to do a reverse Hanahaki disease. It just hurt too much. So yeah. Mateo was over the moon when he started shedding greyish petals from his hair after he and Marco mated. To this day he will shed petals when he is overcome with joy.
