The training we have for this week that I have shared with you was about the Construction Project Manager. If you have not seen it yet, you can view it right here on YouTube.

Now that the training has been released, I am looking for your feedback to make this even better, just for you, our incredible Patreon Members.

So, what Feature can I add for you? Did you find an issue you want me to fix? Or is there a particular area you would like me to focus on?

Please comment your ideas and feedback to any  of these below and I will do my best to not only create an updated workbook but release a private training video next Monday, right here on Patreon.

I am looking forward to hearing from you and thanks so much for your support.

Thank you so much Randy This really good. I do have a request During constructions or any project some task must be linked to another task. Which mean if there is a change in dates for a task the linked task must be changed together. 1. Is it possible to add that option? 2. If linked, could we show a connector from the original task to the linked task This will make it perfect! Also, I understand that the schedule area shows only the month, but is it possible to show weeks or months or years depending on selection. We could keep the same 30/31 columns. Is that possible. I don’t know if this is tough or easy but this is something I have been really waiting from you. I really hope you could help. But as always thank you very much for all the support.

HI and thanks very much for your suggestions Aravind. These are great ideas and probably better for a near future training so that I can get them all in. Thanks again for your continued support

I really hope it will be added soon 🙏 Thanks again as always Randy

Really great start and I have a number of thoughts for consideration some of which may be easily implements and others with some difficulty. I think back to using Microsoft Project to create project management schedules and it is important to add inter-job dependency, that is when a task in one job cannot be started until a task in another job is complete. Also while tasks within a job are currently serial in nature, the assumption of dependency is automatic. Thus in either case, the actual start date of a task needs to be calculated from some other end actual date. This could all be facilitated by adding a delay to a task's data base. Then if a task is updated for completion (or estimated completion) the delay gets calculated from the original. All dependent task do not need their start date changed (relative to plan) but the estimated future start date becomes plan plus delay. Thus everything shifts automatically. For display purposes it may be easier to read if all tasks in a job are colinear but his is difficult with the current design because a task is relegated to a single row and it would be hard to display a single line schedule when the layout depends on the info in a given row for the tasks. (Difficult may not mean impossible.) Again the inter-job dependency would prevent a task from starting before it could and then there is the issue of checking for clashing dates when such need to be avoided. And if this display methodology is hard to manipulate, maybe an automated mechanism to draw a flow chart type of display with shapes and connectors using VBA based upon what is in the schedule window area. Going back to tasks within a job, if a task is added to a job that must be between currently existing tasks, consider a mechanism to renumber task such that the implicit nature of serialization in a job exists such that the task order is implied by the task id. This may not be an issue within the data base but given that all shapes are recreated when displayed, maybe not an issue there either. These are just some thoughts. Also I assume you may have some ideas on dragging/dropping tasks on the schedule to re-order or even change task duration. And give some thought to weekend and holidays for date starts. May not be an issue for display but if you get into time allocation for billing etc. With regard to this within the cells for a given week, you could do a calc to show offset from week start by figuring out what the left position is for the number of days offset from the left edge knowing that a full cells is seven days so the width per day is a calculated number. I watch all of these videos knowing much of what you show I have seen before but still enjoy the nuances of new applications.

Love the presentation of the construction Manager, would like to see a Task percentage complete, Job Percentage complete and overall Project percentage complete. As mentioned above to flip over to weekly schedule to have a bird's eye view on what is still coming next 6-8 weeks for planning purposes, as well as having the schedule be able to run from any day of the month to 30 days forward.

It is important to include the public holidays in the schedule and highlight weekend?
