The training we have for this week that I have shared with you was about the User Security Add-in. If you have not seen it yet, you can view it right here on YouTube.

Now that the training has been released, I am looking for your feedback to make this even better, just for you, our incredible Patreon Members.

So, what Feature can I add for you? Did you find an issue you want me to fix? Or is there a particular area you would like me to focus on?

Please comment your ideas and feedback to any  of these below and I will do my best to not only create an updated workbook but release a private training video next Monday, right here on Patreon.

This is great! Thank you. I would like an extra set of quick click security - such as, can’t copy or move, workbook or sheet, can’t save or save as. Just quick checks instead of setting it up through the workbook. As well as setting permissions by workbook or worksheets. Some of my workbooks have too many sheets and I have a few people who need all access. I do save to onedrive, so if multiple people are in with different access levels, how would that work?

Thanks so much for the great suggestion Dawn. I will do my bes to get some of those added. You can set up each user with different security levels and those who have viewable access to all sheets, if you do nothing, they arleady have viewable access, however those who you want to secure, you can just set those particular sheets as locked or hidden. To share and sync your macro-enabled Excel workbook, please watch this training: https://youtu.be/G9VqF7yN0Oo I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Hi Randy would you be able to add a feature where you can add users to a role eg editor, viewer ,admin and they get the appropriate security level

Excel For Freelancers

Hi Peter, That is a nice suggestion. I will do my best. For some reason this week i had a TON of great suggestions, so I will try to squeeze it in because it could save a user a lot of time for sure. Thanks again for your continued support

Great User Security Add-in 1. it would be nice if user changes could be logged in a change-log (with undo option) - for database worksheets 2. it would be nice if the change-log included a few columns for [count each time a worksheet is used \ changed field],[hrly rate field], [value field] - allow management to calculate the value\savings of a workbook 3. on Worksheet Security: it would be nice for an administrator to be able to select multiple user names (on the left tree) to assign worksheet & security at the same time 4. on User Manager: it would be nice to enter First & Last Name -- Username becomes User ID (more secure to use the User ID) 5. It would be nice if only the Administrator could see the list of all users 6. it would be nice to default the first screen to open -- when a user open a workbook 7. When a user logs out; should the workbook close?

Hi and thanks so much for your suggestions. I just finished recording the update to this and I put in a ton of updates. Please make sure to get your suggestions in as soon as possible in the future. If an Excel file is on a Shared Drive, can five users work on it simultaneously and save their changes, or will it display a "Read-Only" message?

Excel For Freelancers

Hi and thanks. Yes multiple workers can use a file. Each users uses their own file and only the data is shared between users. To share and sync your macro-enabled Excel workbook, please watch this training: https://youtu.be/G9VqF7yN0Oo

Thanks for your work its mesmerizing

Excel For Freelancers

Hi and thanks. The answer is that 5 people cannot work on the same workbook at the same time, unless you use my solution that I have outlined in the video. I understand your question and the only way it is possible is that you follow my video.
