Hello Members!

In this week’s Feature, Fix, or Focus, we take last week’s Software & License Manager training.

Here's the update I made for this training:

· Added Dynamic Email Templates requested by Robert Burton

· Focused On Working With Date Formats requested by P I

Please don’t forget to add your requests for your own Feature, Fix or Focus each week when I post a new video, right here on Patreon. Each week I will either add a new feature, fix a bug or an issue, or create another training with a special focus on any part, all based on your feedback and comments.

Make sure to view the brand new and updated training and download the updated workbook in the attachments below.

Hello Randy, please I'm having a trouble updating licenses while trying the application. I noticed that each time I update a license, a duplicate is instead created in the data store. It is been a month now that I m struggling. My data store "key" seems to be the issue. Its colour is different from what i watch in the training video.

Hi Gaetan, Thanks for your message. IN this template the license DB Row is on B4. If B4 holds a value then the selected license will be updated. If it is empty then a new one will be added. Please make sure for existing license this is a valid #. If not check your values and your formula in this cell. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Thank you very much. The App is fine, I can see my updates. The problem is with integromate ("make") data base store. The old data is not updated whenever I try to renew a licence , a new row with the same key 🗝️ and the newly updated date is instead created . I would really appreciate if could help me with that.

thx Randy, forcing all the date formats to one is a big help. when they get out of sync it is very tricky to find where the problem is. I like how you bullet proofed it

Thanks p l, I have also had to deal with these issues a lot so its better to be safe then sorry. I am glad I can help.

found out that excel defaults to US format MM/DD/YYYY when importing CSV text files and when parsing a text string with vba. if you are using a different format it will automatically by default convert the text representation of the date to US format. best to standardize to US format in your spreadsheet to accommodate this default situation or you will have an inadvertent switch problem

p l

not sure if this default situation is documented so I thought I would post this here
