Hello Members!

In this week’s Feature, Fix, or Focus, we take last week’s Automated Form Creator training.

Here are the updates I made for this training:

· Hide Column C & Clear Button requested by Larry Duffie

· Add User Security & Rights requested by Larry Duffie

· Walk Through On How To Take A Spreadsheet & Turn It Into A Form requested by James Stevens

Please don’t forget to add your requests for your own Feature, Fix or Focus each week when I post a new video, right here on Patreon. Each week I will either add a new feature, fix a bug or an issue, or create another training with a special focus on any part, all based on your feedback and comments.

Hi Rand, on FormTemplate, I start with button set (previously created a database) and the fields (text, dropdown, etc.) do not appear. What do I wrong? Thank you

HI and thanks for your comment, perhaps you can step through the code using F8, and go line by line to check for possible issues. It would be hard to know without seeing, perhaps you can share screenshots on a post in our Excel For Freelancers Facebook Group here: http://bit.ly/groupexcel I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Hi Randy, after selecting 'create form' from my database, the popup loads. It does a great job, but I could use a scroll bar because my database has more than 18 fields and so, currently, the popup doesn't allow the user to scroll to see what is selected. In order to hit enter/cancel I'm having to count my tabs to get thru the remaining unseen fields and guess what I'm trying to select.

Ignore that! I just opened the form in VBA and added the scroll bar. Sorry! :)

No worries Hallie, I am glad you got it worked out. Thanks again for your continued support

I can not wait to see this. I have someone that I am going to try it for. Thank you Randy.

Randy, can you add the possibility of a Long Text field. For fields containing a lot of text

Miguel

So, when displayed you can see at least a good part of the field.

Larry Duffie

You can add that in the Admin Sheet under Field type i believe

Larry Duffie

Randy, on the Clear Form and Data. When you press it clears the Form and Data on the Form. On the Drag and Drop it does the form and the Data. I believe I understand why on this one. Do you think it would work if I added a Message Box to say clear Form and Database?

HI Miguel, the best way to add larger text fields would be to use the "text" field along with increasing both column and row widths. Using merged cells, in this case, can create issues and slowness for this type of application. I hope this helps and thanks so much.
