soon you’ll get better is a very difficult song for taylor to talk about, with her only performing it once at a covid relief event. it’s a song dedicated to her mom, andrea, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and then re-diagnosed around 2018 (when she was writing for lover). she also asked the chicks to feature on it because they were andrea’s favorite band and taylor’s inspiration to start a country music career. ❤️‍🩹

afterglow is my #1 on lover and in my ultimate top 5 taylor songs. will never get tired of that masterpiece!! i’d say my top 5 on lover are afterglow, false god, cornelia street, daylight, and the archer! honorable mention to need and all of the girls you loved before! 🩷

Lover is a summer album for me. it just hits harder when it’s sunny and warm! also, it’s cool you caught the capital ‘TS’ in The Archer. they were Easter eggs for her doing a song for Toy Story 5!! in every track 5, those two letters were capitalized to hint at TS5.

Lover has always been towards the bottom in my rankings. Watching you guys listen through again reminded me that I do love it, it just can't hold up quite as much next to most of her catalog. The Archer though is probably in my top 10 of songs from her.

Year after year Lover is on my most played albums. I find it the easiest to just put on and let play to have a good time or on a drive. It was “cool” to hate on this album, but it’s proved the test of time. PS: the capital Ts and Ss in track 5 turned out to be a Toy Story 5 Easter egg! Funny you did your reaction on that particular day!

i love Lover so much, it was such an important album for Taylor at the time, it was the beginning of a new era and the re-recording of her previous albums, and she was so happy promoting it, that’s why i could never hate it, and also because it’s incredibly good and the production is amazing. Seeing this after one of the most chaotic, draining ER shifts ever has made my day!! 💖 Lover gets so much undeserved hate I think bc people think it’s not “lyrically dense” but it’s there, the melodies and themes are just happier pop influenced & I’m convinced only like when she’s sad/heartbroken. 🙄False God is on MY Mnt Rushmore of TS songs. Also pumped Cooley caught the “arrowhead” line in Cornelia Street and if you go through her whole discography pre-Travis there are SO many “invisible strings” if you will that point to him 🥰 talk about meant to be🩷

I think the hardest part of listening to this album is knowing in the back of my mind is she's not with Joe anymore and the songs are so beautiful and about him. I'm glad that she's found Travis though. It's such an easy fit.

I love that you guys have become unapologetic Swifties! If I've learned anything in my 50 years its that I do not care what anyone thinks about what I choose to love. I am a 50 Swiftie and Proud to be one. I've been a fan since Reputation, but now love her whole catalog. Lover is a great album. It's not in my top 5, but honestly, my top 5 changes constantly. That's the beauty of Taylor Swift. She has something for everyone. If only we could get her haters to just calm down and move on. It's exhausting always defending the Queen!

For me, I didn't actually listen to the whole Lover album for ages because the single selection was particularly terrible, IMO. I hated ME (and still kind of do) and just procrastinated listening to the rest of the album. Then I heard The Man and became obsessed! It's still not my favorite overall TS album, but some of my favorite songs are on it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
