The next question becomes sub or dub. I know the dub has familiar voices from Cowboy Bebop, but it's also been a long time since I saw it.

Yeah Mugen has the same dub VA for Spike, Steve Blum with his sexy voice, and the shit Mugen says in dub is hilarious as hell to hear. i’m also pretty sure all the bandits/baddies/no name characters will have grating voices with dub that I believe Tony doesn’t typically enjoy. Another anime with one of the better dubs, though sub is just as great.

PLEASE WATCH THE SUB.. ITS GONNA BE WAY BETTER..you're gonna be watching an anime based in the samurai era of the japanese..so naturally it would make sense to watch it in the japanese language, which in my opinion is better to watch this subbed

i get it, but the amount of hype surrounding champloo for most of beebop's run can't be denied, and tony is really into the music, and champloo, like beebop, is known for its music, also the association, sense same team, baccano next though

i know all the sub purests are gonna say sub, because they really believe its the only way to enjoy it, but you seem to enjoy dub(when its GOOD) more than sub, which is pretty common, and the dub in champloo is by the same team as beebop, and just as good. Whether or not the sub voice acting is better becomes irrelevant imo when the dub is this good, and the localization in it is superb.

ahhh, in that case, yes, you should watch sub. out of curiosity, you don't seem to have that same opinion when it comes to the org japenese, is it because of the language barrier?

I think the dub should be given a shot, it fits so well with the series almost like it was made to be English dubbed from the start. If not I get it though. Gonna be weird watching this show in Japanese for the first time LOL

ohhh, so its the back to back listening that takes you out of it, not the fact that its the same voice actors voicing different characters, thats my bad, although a couple times you have watched shows with the same va back to back, but they were minor characters, but i misunderstood you.

Sub. Even though I'm a sub and dub guy, and it was done well, Tony just came off of Bebop. We don't usually mind, but we must remember that Tony's eye and ear watching is a bit different. I'm not sure Tony will enjoy the English wise cracks of Mugen, if all he thinks about is Spike. But the interesting part is that he isn't like that if the Japanese voice actors sound the same in different shows. That is probably just his thing or preference. We want the wise and joyful Tangent Tony, not the grumpy Tangent Tony.🤣

I feel like he'll love the anime, but not the ost since its mainly hiphop/lofi stuff(even tho I love Nujabes and Shingo)

Champloo appeared on american cable tv and then hulu and probably other streaming services plus it has the Watanabe name behind it to add more hype. This was Watanabe before Kids on the slope, Terror in resonance, etc.. Champloo was his second known work after Bebop.. not saying those other anime i listed are bad, they're solid, but just by only being good and not on the level of Bebop tarnished the Watanabe name a little bit. But again this was before Watanabe's name been tarnished and people thought it was the next thing lol (sorry). Baccano is better than Champloo (in my opinion) but the company that owns it went bankrupt or something.. it used to be on the funimation site for a time iirc or hulu maybe? but it was short lived. i think we're back to there's no legal way to watch it again like it was for most of its life sadly. I can't even tell you who should receive credit for Baccano, i just know it's related to Durarara and maybe based on a light novel. But yea, these are factors for why Champloo is more popular than Baccano, it's just exposure. (im sorry i had to nerd out a little bit)

yes but this is JAPANESE hip hop and lowfi, and you have been a very vocal critic of ethnicity/nationalities making musical content that did not originate from them, regardless of quality, while obv you hate all trash equal, you have said, multiple times, in twitch streams and elsewhere, that only the ethnicity/nationality that created a genre, should be allowed to make said genre.

Man you are a thorn when you try to put words in my mouth. I didn't say that, quite inaccurate tbh. I said that is genre EMULATION after the point of origin and reasons for creation, which is fine. At no point did I say someone shouldn't be allowed, it's just not really that genre in true form. Also, stop liking your own comments immediately after making them 🤣
