What a cool idea, having them have no eyes for the last 2 episodes and then finally revealing their faces once he finally realizes he can open up to people. Huge impact on that scene when he opens his eyes

They showed a slight incite on the previous episode, but the reason Ishigami was even able to advance was because Miko fought for him in the office and had them advance him since he did all his assignments still. This show is so damn amazing, it's definitely a top contender for me in terms of shows and writing cause even as a romcom the writing and character dives just get better and better as the show progresses. It still gets me emotional watching it years after the episode originally came out but my guy Ishigami has some great people on his side and watching out for him now, getting those in Highschool can really help lead to life-long friendships that turn into family so I absolutely love that for him.

I love this episode. It just gets to me. The moment where pres finally tells him that he did good after such a long time with no one on his side. The author Akasaka Aka has a way to draw from the real world for humor but also for drama and it creates a lot of impact for both sides of the emotional spectrum. The series has a lot of undertones about self worth and coming to love yourself in general that start to be put more and more into the spotlight but you can see the hints there from the start. I really like the depiction of Ishigami taking the initiative to move on by choosing to join the cheer squad. He's really trying. I think part of this is also due Kaguya helping him with the recent mid terms. This episode puts it into perspective why he had the attitude he had. Sure he was back from suspension but was basically still convinced that he can't do good things anyway. But Kaguya just like pres gave him validation. They invested in him and expected things of him which I think gave him the boost he needed to actually try to be happy again.

By the way, I’m not sure if you’ve seen it but after episode 12 there’s a teaser that they released for season 3 that you prolly want to take a look at and I know people want you to watch the OVA as well just bc it’s definitely some After Dark content perfect for this tier lmao
