oof, rough lineup, in a good way though, im going to do buddy daddies just cause i love the over the top comedy in it, and uncle is like eminence in that its a parody of isekai and fantasy tropes in anime and jrpg's, so if tony didn't like eminence i have a feeling he wont like it. also hope august isn't too rough, don't be afraid to have less shows on here if theres not enough time, since this is your second job and all, rl first, prime job sec, this third lol

@joey, regardless of opinion on quality they are both a parody, and they are both a parody of fantasy and isekai tropes. Now uncle leans more into parody of 80's/90's sega games and things like that, but it still HEAVILY is a parody of isekai and fantasy tropes, its different enough that i said i have a FEELING he won't like it, but i have been surprised by him liking things i didn't think he would like before, i don't know the man lol, but ya, it is similar to it in that regard. HOWEVER things tony might like about it, it has old school 80's/90's video game tropes as well, its a reverse isekai, so its about someone coming from another world back to "modern" japan, and everyone is adults in the modern world, but the flashbacks are set from him being a teenage in another world. also it is an over the top comedy, so the heavy comedy elements might overcome the isekai/fantasy elements for tony.

Uncle is nothing like eminence at all, it’s closer Konosuba as it’s a deconstruction comedy of isekai tropes but it’s not intentionally cringe

Since TBHX is definitely getting a season 2, I wonder if it'd be better to wait until that comes out for Tony to start watching it. Because season 1 is basically just the character intros

Got a feeling S2 might be about 2-3 years away though. The interviews with the director seem to indicate that season 2 hasn’t been worked on fully yet. However, I think watching S1 in one go isn’t a bad idea. TBHX is like Apothecary Diaries, in that there’s so much mystery woven into the story you’d easily lose track of certain details.

@avalon I would agree, hence why i said i "FEEL" like he wouldn't like it, but all 3 are parody's of the isekai/fantasy genre. They just go about it a different way, in a stream tony showed 2 different jazz pieces and i liked the second one and he said "because its simple", its like that, eminence is subtle, focuses more of parodying the cringe, and requires genre saviness, as well as understanding the references, konosuba is more slapstick , basically whether you understand the references or not you can get the jokes, its, as tony would say, "simple". Uncle is between konosuba and eminence, in that you do have to have more genre saviness, but you don't need near total genre saviness, ie some jokes you can get, some you can't. Still, will be an interesting watch. Also i love all three, but i personally think uncle is the weakest of them. edit: i think konosuba is the strongest, lol, slapstick or not, can't beat great writing.

I looooooove eizouken but it's more of an acquired taste for seasoned anime veterans, or folks who are actively involved in the animation industry. It's a tasty treat for anyone with the spark of creativity though, so definitely wont be sad if it wins!
