This was a good episode. I am enjoying the angle of the show, but I definitely have some questions as well. The spots I need some clarity on are talked about after the ED music. Thanks!

SLF needs more love

So in this world people belief in a person can create a super power in that person, that power will manifest from the people perception of the hero or how they marketed the hero. The more people believe in the hero the stronger he is. Nice suppose to be prefect that is way the way he move and the way he fights is clean and that is also way his OCD is getting more and more severe.

Those bottom corner indicators of "__ years after commission" are more helpful than I first realized for keeping track of events as they happen through flashbacks.

Yeah, Lin Ling's power is both literal and figurative. Because he's being boosted by trust value, it's giving him power to be a literal hero under the Nice persona, and becoming a copy of how the old Nice was in terms of power. The old Nice was a perfectionist with OCD so that's essentially what's happening to him. One can say the ability to fly and super strength are a perfect combination, further appealing to Nice's persona.

Like someone else mentioned heroes get their powers from the people and how the people perceive them. So if the original Nice has been shown doing incredible acts of strength and having flight since the people assume he’s the real one they will continue pushing their perceptions into him thus giving him strength/flight. The people typing in the livestream telling him he could do it was giving him power for example. Firm man is similar if everyone thinks he’s some unstoppable force who never takes a knee that’s what will manifest. Cliff notes: Heroes get their powers from the trust value of the populous.

to add: the opposite would also be true the less trust people have in you, the weaker you are, so if people started trusting Nice's perfection less, he himself would become less perfect

Im interested in seeing the eventual video on the opening. I would like you to go in depth on what it means when you say over-produced. As some with a less trained ear than you. I know there are effects and distortion added but it also sounds like the singer's regular voice for a lot of the run time.

I will do it soon. The vocal line sounds nothing like what a real person singing sounds like. Our voices don't go from note to note like that. Those are snapped into place with software to get the sound you hear in music like this. The sad part is... most people who peruse music as a consumer will NEVER know the difference because, how could they? If you have not shared the stage or studio or just worked with real singers its almost impossible to know what you are hearing is severely edited. There is a good youtube channel that points this stuff out. Here is a GREAT channel that explains what I am talking about on something that you may have heard https://youtu.be/og2Bcm-ZTVs?si=UPuB98HCg6vShvzR

Not only that, but trust can also change your physical appearance to some extent as well, as you can see with Lin Ling having his eyes turn blue.

Yeah, it’s probably a good idea to have “year 41” as a baseline, as well as a couple other years. It helps avoid certain confusion in later episodes when we move from Y41 which is the present.

An interesting tidbit that the director/creator of TBHX mentioned about Nice as a hero: Basically he’s meant to represent the typical hero everyone of us images when we think of a hero. Kinda like Superman, a hero we can never really image doing anything wrong, he’s always cool, kind, and is “perfect”. But what really lies underneath?
