Another great episode. I got a little confused at the end about the information of the mother vs what we knew about the friend Helenka. Mavis Beacon was doing very Mavis Beacon things in this one, but WILL WE see a direction shift with his obession(s)? Time will tell. I want to know if anyone is going to ID Roberto with gunshot wounds? I assume we will learn about 3 frogs and the bridge soon. Gonna be thinking about that now.

Is the actor you are thinking of that looks like the therapist Wilford Brimley?

YESSS!! HAHAGA Quaker Oats commercial guy. Thank you for the reminder on his name. He looks just like the therapist

Margot Langer, whose real name is Helenka Novakova and is Karl’s mother, tried to escape Czechoslovakia with her friend. Her friend was caught and taken back to Czechoslovakia. The friend later gave birth to twins. After retiring, Margot lived with an 18 year old guy who reminded her a lot of the friend. Margot was later found dead. That’s what we learned in the last episode. The friend who gave birth to twins is presumably still alive. Only Karl’s mother was said to have died. Helenka is Karl’s mother who went by Margot Langer in Germany, not the friend.

He really does! And it didn't click for me until you brought it up then it was like Holy shit! I know exactly who he is talking about 😆

Are you implying Lunge is not his "biggest fan" already? lmao

Also, you're thinking of the word "kowai" and "kawaii" kowai = scary kawaii = cute

Damn half way through the episode I realized who it was but I was too late to break the case. When I googled his name to remind myself I also did not realize he was in The Thing but he doesn't have his mustache and looks so different

Love this show, but I guess a small gripe I have is that Schuwald is perfectly sane at the end of this ordeal, but has strangely chosen to put everything on Tenma, the guy he met in the middle of a fire, rather than using his influence to convince the police along with the report that he knows Dr. Reichwine has compiled as related evidence, to then make Johan into Germany's most wanted. If he really wanted to stop Johan, using his influence to pressure Johan seems like how we would've wanted to do that. Instead Tenma has to camp out in a building for three days to watch a city square while Johan gets to continue to walk freely because maybe only ten or so living people in the whole country know to actually be wary of him.

I really didn't like lunge as a character, but watching him going into this apartment that johan lived in, makes me think, all of his distrust of tenma was all build-up for this moment, that he was confronted with Johan's existence yet there was no traces of him living there🤯

It's crazy how Lunge left his family for Tenma, in any other context you would think he is gay for Tenma by this point
