What a match it has been! I 100% FORGOT that Detlef was not in the match 👀This moment at the end was like "oh shit, my bad!"I wonder if the next ep will just be GP... to GP... to GP... Dont tell me thoIt was a nice bonus to see coach eyebrows have some throwback moments as well.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but sadly the VA for Coach Ukai died after recording this episode with that little inspirational speech being his last line, so there will be a new VA for the remaining Haikyuu episodes.

The coach’s current voice actor for where we’re at passed away and those inspirational lines he said at the end of the episode were the last lines he got to record for the character. So next episode he’ll sound a bit different but I think the new VA does a pretty good job as well. Detlef running out just in the nick of time but we gotta make it through game point for Shiratorizawa so he isn’t able to immediately switch in now. The similarities between coach eyebrows and Hinata our MC are very interesting whereas Hinata chose to fight despite his height, the coach decided to take his L and go about things a completely different way.

RIP to Ukai's original VA Kazunari Tanaka (he also voiced the protagonist of Planetes, and a supporting character of Code Geass). His last Haikyu line was the "Don't you dare look down! Volleyball is a sport where you're always looking up!" at 21:33/21:55. Hisao Egawa started voicing Ukai from episode 9 onward, and he's good as well.

5:33 funnily enough, the name of OST playing is "An Annoying Guy" by Yuki Hayashi

SKAOG

8:34 the name of OST playing is "Super-Fast Quick" by Yuki Hayashi

SKAOG

17:35 the name of OST playing is (The Road to the "Final Boss") by Asami Tachibana

SKAOG

18:58 i love the OST that plays here ("Greed" by Yuki Hayashi)

SKAOG

25:55, you're likely refering to the OST with the guitar that was playing at 5:33 ("An Annoying Guy" by Yuki Hayashi)

SKAOG

Happy Holidays, i hope you get a decent break!

“Don’t you dare look down! Volleyball is a sport where you’re always looking up” 🥹🥹🥹

RIP Kazunari Tanaka. Brainstem hemorrhage is a B.... “Don’t you dare look down! Volleyball is a sport where you’re always looking up”

Ushiwaka is annoyed by Hinata because he's like an elite player going into a ranked game watching this noob player with lacking fundamentals carrying the game by doing some bullshit, so he's like: "nah, no way I'm losing to this"

Substitution horn Tony strikes again 😅

Took me way too long to get the shawn kemp reference.

Rest in peace, ma guy! I noticed this too when I was watching Haikyuu for the first time and noticed a slight change in his voice. The 2nd VA is great too, but Tanaka's voice just suits the coach and hits different. Everytime I watch haikyuu I'm very happy and grateful to hear him.
