Man, gotta love Taku Inoue, his works with Suisei are all great. I wish Midnight Grand Orchestra still was a thing. Taku mixed this song as well as everything for MGO

Yes, at least another good song 😉😉

YEEEEAHHH MORE SUISEI. Have GOT to check out the FIRST TAKE version

Aside from my Taku Comment, You already have listened to her, GHOST, I think the Model is hard to ignore as well. I never really liked V-Tuber songs mainly because that 95% are just covers, and the rest are just ehh.

Vtubers are honestly not that different from faceless content creators/streamers. They just have an avatar that comes with it. At least that's what it feels to me when I watch the ones I watch. There's some that pretend they're a character and some that act just, just with an anime avatar with it. It applies to IRL streamers too there's some that play a characters and some that are more "real"

Jc

she also performed this on the First Take a few years ago

*sigh* Alright here we go. History lesson for KNOWLEDGE First officially recognized Vtuber was in 2011 but the one who made it popular was Kizuna Ai in 2016. It took off in Japan in 2018 with Hololive (the largest Vtuber Talent agency in the world now) They built up a lot of talents, other agencies joined in but it didn't REALLY spread as a major thing until Sept 2020 with the introduction of Hololive's first English generation "Myth". Which includes Mori Calliope that you have reacted to before. "Vtuber music" isn't really a thing. They all have different genres and strengths they play to. Some are rappers, some are J-pop, some are K-pop, some are Jazz some of them even Opera. The issue is if you asked people to define what is "Vtuber Music" most will give you an answer that could include Ado as well as Gorillaz and other faceless artists. So best not to really classify them all together like that or each new track is gonna throw you for a loop. Suisei here and most of the larger music based Vtubers all write their own lyrics. This specific songs lyrics were written by Suisei herself. True though most don't work with real bands as lot of the time, generally speaking, despite ranking fairly high on billboard a lot of real bands refuse to work with Vtubers so most of the time they rely on Vocaloid composers to create the music. Vocaloid is pretty close to Vtubers after all. To hear a real band perform with a Vtuber, Mori Calliope recently released a song called "Rival and Equals" in which she performs with a real band. There is also the Vtuber Tokoyami Towa who prefers to work with real bands. I also recommend Hololive Advent's new group song "Breakout". just because I can :P Otherwise GREAT BREAK DOWN of the music! Highly enjoyed the video.

I am shocked to hear that there is an actual trumpet player on here. It sounds ... nothing like a real person playing or phrasing. Wild!

sorry, that was mostly me realizing how often I've been typing this stuff recently for reactors and how I should just make a copy pasta doc for it. TLDR - Vtubers started in 2011 but didn't become a major thing outside of Japan til 2020 - "Vtuber Music" as described by most would include Ado and Gorillaz and other such artists so don't use it as an expectation or genre when thinking of it. - Most big Vtubers who do a lot of music write their own songs. Not many perform with live bands and instead use Vocaloid producers as that is the closest thing to Vtubers out there. - To see/hear a live band perform with a Vtuber I recommend Mori Calloipe's newest song "Rivals and Equals" or check out Tokoyami Towa who prefers to have a live band to work with.

On her album OUT THERE, Hiromi Uehara played with trumpet player Adam O'Farrill who uses 3 pedals. Bass: Hadrien Feraud Drums: Gene Coye. Here's them playing ''Yes! Ramen!!'', ''OUT THERE: Strollin'', ''Balloon Pop'' from the album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hTAdzLu6pg&t=20s Maybe Akira Okumura does something similar.

Pedals dont take away the real player sound tho. I am guessing they did a shit ton of stuff in post that just made it sound like midi because nothing in that track from the reaction sounded real or normal
