FYI, it’s the full band name that you translated in the beginning. ZUTOMAYO is a shortened version of the phrase “Zutto mayonaka de ii noni”, which translates as “I wish it was midnight all the time”. As for this song, the name is something like “This kind of uproar”, or “Such a disturbance”, as the beginning of the MV says

21:55 sokoninaru yeah, you got it right😅. Loved the tangents, great reaction, thank you RDA for the zutomayo requests!

Talking about electricity and musicians, Zutomayo is famous for playing some unique stuff such as the electrical fan harp, television drums and the open reel tape recorders 🤣

Thank you RDA

Man Google Translate really left you hanging there lmao. Thanks for the video as always and no need to apologize for the prolonged yap session. I don't know how others feel about it, but I personally don't mind you talking freely and at length about whatever comes to mind during these videos. I mean that's the whole point imo. Whenever I see a song reaction on YT that's 7 minutes long for a 4 minute song I don't even bother anymore. I mean I can listen to the song itself on my own, don't need a webcam next to it, that barely adds anything.

As always thank you RDA

Obviously can't speak for your whole audience or what the analytics say but god would I love to see 30+ min reactions from you more often, genuinely always such a treat to hear your tangents and insights on even the most random shit musically hahaha (and speaking as a black church musician, we can def do it like that in the west, you've just gotta look for it 😂)

I stand by my hypothesis that Vocaloids are what changed the Japanese music industry, both in vocal singing and music composition. It was first released in 2000 but really took off with the birth of Hatsune Miku in 2007. It began a generational cat and mouse game where composers known as "Vocalo-P" (short for Vocaloid Producers) would make music with synthesized voices that don't have to worry about vocal range or lyric speed, but then came along singers known as "Utaite" who attempt to sing these near impossible pieces. A good handful of Japan's current top artists are former Vocalo-P's including Vaundy, Ayase from YOASOBI, Kenshi Yonezu and Yorushika. Then you have the Utaite's that debuted such as Ado, MafuMafu, 9lana, etc. Another reason why these Vocaloid songs were so popular was because they were breaking barriers and trying new things which subsequently was adapted by mainstream "J-Pop" by artists in the 2010's like Sekai no Owari, Sakanaction, Official HigeDandism, etc. The irony is that though a lot of kids in Japan appreciate the music of artists like Zutomayo, Mrs. Green Apple, Ado, YOASOBI, etc. their vocals are so off the charts that nobody can sing them at Karaoke, a common way for kids to bond in Japan, so they're reverting back to J-Pop music of the 90's and early 2000's, including the fashion, which is being coined as the "Y2K Movement" right now.
