Just an honor system reminder. Please purchase ep 1 for the $3 since the collection sale was not working correctly with Patreon. Thank you! 🙏WOW! Powerful episode 👏I can see a ton of takeaways from a lot of POVs on thisSo many variants of allegory packed into such a short moment.

Jet Man

I now have a strange urge to watch a show that is about a Delusion, but is also Heavenly.

Loayza

Great anime

Obviously a very clear Trans allegory, this episode had a lot of really positive discussion when it came out and I was shocked to see how non-toxic the reactions to this episode were. Also the whole episode is steeped in 2000s Japan aesthetics and culture. The song that played at the end is called Renai Revolution 21 by Morning Musume which came out in the early 2000s. Excited to see the next two episodes they’re two of my favourites!

Avalon

I understand the gender dysphoria angle here, but it’s not what I personally take away from it. What I hear is that it’s not penis that makes you a man, but stepping up and BEING a MAN. You know? Not in a ‘toxic’ way, but in the virtuous way. But I’ve also never once had issues with identity one way or the other so I’m sure plenty of people see other things here that I don’t.
