Yeah… 🤣 I woke up to quite a few comments on the poll about Devilman Crybaby that definitely caught my attention. I’ll be honest, I did zero research on the titles before posting the poll. Oops. After a quick search, lmao, it became pretty obvious that one might be a bit over the top for my reaction style. 😅

No he mentions in his own comment but its the rampant nudity and sexual stuff, much of it being violently sexual. Being its not an 18+ Patreon the amount of editing work would be massive. Especially for a short series as Devilman.

Never got into Black Lagoon, just not my type of anime and Sentenced to be a Hero is good, but it's nothing out of the ordinary (animation is 10/10 tho). I'll give Claymore a vote even if it won't win lol

There is a very high amount for like 12 episodes lol. They are both extremely graphic and some very violently so. I can roughly name 12 scenes off the top of my head. Some are extensive and long as well like the nightclub scene.

Its not anymore cringe than like black lagoon lol. Black lagoon is definitely a product of its early 2000s origin but its still fun. Senteced to be a hero is the same trend. Its basic fantasy and sometimes thats fun.

The entire fate franchise gets better if you understand literally any aspect of it. That level of appreciation is impossible without trying any of the shows. Fate Zero was easy enough for my 15 year old ass to understand over a decade ago, and that’s the only series I’ve watched besides the current series. People with different opinions summon figures from history to fight in a battle that results in a wish being granted. The rest of the show is just fun context that can be enjoyed at your own digression. Not liking it is fine, but calling it a clusterfuck of lore is like saying D&D is pretentious. It exists because it’s interesting and stupid fun.

Fate is literally known for being a clusterfuck of lore. And that's not a bad thing. Fate has a very dedicated fan base because of what it is, but what it is is not for everyone and that's okay too.

LOL no i get it, its been so long since ive seen it i don't remember that many of the sexual violence scenes but i do remember the gore, tbf its not done in a tastless or pointless fashion, it is part of the story and the themes, but i do also get that its 100% a 18+ show

@trowa i put out my comment before he put out his, but i get it, especially the sexual stuff, i feel like tony would be ok with the violence and the gore, though its pretty big in devilman, id still recommend a watch on his own time. though why patreon allows it on the trash taste patreon, which isn't 18 only, but not tony is kinda sus, like why would patreon do that you know? i feel like its discriminating against smaller patreons, which is messed up

Yeah this sounds about right. Devilman Crybaby is a REALLY great show, don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed its narrative start to end, and "Devilman" is a classic for a reason, but this is a WILD freaking show start to end in terms of mature content, and I went into it blind so... Hard to recommend to just ANYONE y'know? LMAO

I only finished S1 of black lagoon cos I got so busy at uni– hopefully this can revitalise my interest into completing the series, its sooo good and has such a unique vibe to it

I can't imagine many of the people who voted for Sentenced to be a Hero have seen any of the other three. Recency bias is overwhelming in these polls, and not just for Tony but other reactors too. One of the reasons i feel like these older shows deserve their own polls
