F-Zero X was the title I played in my childhood, and yeah, that entire vibe sends me straight back. I remember sitting at the character select screen, just because the looping track there was so catchy. In this age where, as you mentioned, graphics are getting insane, and there are so many convoluted steps added before you can just PLAY, I've gone back to older games to get away for a while. Fans, amazingly, have kept the dream alive. Not just emulation, but now folks have started to decompile titles, which paves the way towards native PC ports of these games. I still own my childhood Nintendo 64, but digging it out to play just isn't happening right now, so efforts like this are such a blessing. This was an excellent trip down memory lane! Thank you for reacting to this track, and giving your own insight on what nostalgia means to you.

Wow! That was fun to read. The old games just hit because of the connection they made

Glad you enjoyed it as much as i had. This soundtrack randomly popped up in my youtube and got nostalgia bombed back to when i was just a kid. I vividly remember jamming to the soundtrack raging at the game, good times. Seems i'm not the only "old head" here who fondly remembers the good ole times. Rose tinted memories for sure but i cherish them all the same.
