“I’m just the captain of this number #2 team to win this entire tourney who keeps all these other great players in check. So I’m not a big deal guys don’t worry.” If there was a damn award for downplay it would go to Kita lmao. He knows his teammates so well and obviously really cares about them even though he talks so straightforward. It’s kinda similar to how Ushiwaka talks but Ushiwaka is too introverted to also go out his way and buy “get well snacks” after telling someone to stop practicing cause they’re sick. The realization of how scared and worried Nishinoya actually is along with how it causes him to overthink and be a step behind Miya Atsumu’s serves is so interesting. The next episode though is one of my favorite episodes of this entire game so I think it’ll be a great watch for you next week.

Shinsuke is another really great representation of the diversity of characters in Haikyuu. Goes to show that different people have different strengths and it’s important to foster and value those strengths, even if the person’s way of engaging might be a little unconventional or off putting. As an autistic person I see a lot of my younger self in Shinsuke, and it’s nice to see him succeed and become so valued for his traits that might otherwise be judged or misunderstood.

I agree with your recap. Way too many softies nowadays. Want everything handed to them, can't take criticism.

great tangent. It's frustrating that i can't have a polite conversation on being critical or provide feedback to benefit something without having to worry if the person or team is going to take offence, which just results in worse outcomes when stuff is toned down

1000% All my contemporaries (in age range) who hold higher levels in the corporate world VENT like crazy over how to handle the younger folks that come in, who just are not able to adapt

i'm one of those Gen Z younger folks that's recently entered the corporate world, and its the older people, and more importantly the type of people who would be in HR that i'm more careful around (even if they're not in HR). i feel that i can be much more direct and honest with those in my age range in my firm, because they're fellow people that see the bs that's spouted but are also familiar with the unhinged meme culture of the internet. it maybe helps that i'm in tech within a bank, so its mainly felllow geeks that i interact with in my age range who dont have as much of a problem in taking critical yet constructive feedback (though i do know a few who do take offence that i am careful around)
