It is that time tho 😭I need your suggestions on what the next sports anime we will watch on Patreon should be, thank you! What a GREAT season! So much to take in, and it was done wonderfully. All my thoughts and praise are at the end of the episode.Cool to hear the ED in its full length as well

The next sports anime has to be Hajime no Ippo

Cody

Ace of diamond

SimplySora

Looking forward to Hajime no Ippo 🙃

Lichrin69

World Cup is approaching, why don't we see how Japan has prepared themselves to make a deep run in the tournament. Let's watch Blue Lock

Arsenic805

Blue Lock is the only other sports anime I've seen so I recommend that one. It's about soccer, but with a twist. Completely different overall message than Haikyuu but it works

Chris Johnson

I think Kuroko's Basketball has the combination of great OST and anime "action" you're looking for

Danyul

Definitely gotta shill for Medalist. Absolutely phenomenal sports series

Edgar Lopez

Has got to be kuroko no basket

Niklas Neumann

Would get my vote. It also values funtamentals and teamspirt and has some nice chartakter developments. I also like that you get to know the other teams a little bit. But i'm not sure if Tony vibes with Sawamura...

Lora

Run With the Wind

Alanin_8💜

Medalist would be my recommendation

XmapleX

Diamond no ace

Going from the start of the match where Atsumu had no clue who Hinata was and thought he might be trash, to the end of the match where he actually respects and is drawn to him so much that he's like "Nah, somewhere down the line in the future, you're GOING to be on my team" is absolutely crazy and shows how much of a danger Hinata is. Like Atsumu's so meticulous that he was calling his own brother trash so it's a huge accomplishment. I'm so glad we got around to watching this anime and you got to see why it's so many people's (including mine) favorite anime. There are so many aspects where I think it does amazingly and almost none that I have any issues with. Season 4 had me crying a couple times since I've been watching this on release from when Season 1 originally started airing and I'm just so invested into all of these characters. Now, the problem with how the company is doing this follow up stuff is honestly, this next movie could've just been a season like the Shiratorizawa one was. They saw the cash grab that Demon Slayer did when they made Mugen Train and got a shit ton of money and they decided to turn the rest of the series into movies. There's the Garbage Dump movie and then one more movie after that and the problem is, there's too much manga content that needs to be covered for it to get the appropriate amount of screen time and weight to the moments when you're trying to condense everything into 2 movies. My best friend has been encouraging me to read the manga for forever and sadly, once this movie comes out and there's probably important good stuff skipped over, I'll have to check that out. I'm holding out hope to not be entirely negative about it cause I know I'll probably cry when I watch it in theaters either way lol.

I’ve been waiting for this let’s watch some BLUE LOCK

Shrine

Blue Lock is my vote, especially with how well it contrasts Haikyuu

Nelson Floyd

ace of diamonds (Diamond no Ace) or Ao ashi. Both have great high level coaching aspects added in I think youd appreciate.

Mike

Hajime no Ippo. Easy pick

IRG7

It’s been a while since I watched it but I enjoyed Run with the Wind. It also has the same composer as Haikyu (Yuki Hayashi).

Logan H

Run with the wind, banger

Jet Man

Megalobox

guapaholic

Megalobox is doooope

Alamun

I'll put one in for Aoashi!

PartyCat

Run With the Wind

Alamun

I'm pretty sure that was OP1 at the end there, not the most recent ED.

Mohamed

Baby Steps- an excellent tennis show

Red Menace

Baby steps, said it before and ill say it again, if you love shows about using and building on fundamentals, this is it, its tennis, and while it starts in high school it actually goes into pro, and the whole amateur vs pro thing, its really good

Red Menace

i feel like we stand alone on this island lol

Kevin Wang

hajime no ippo if you want to see boxing. If you're into baseball, Ace of Diamond. i would recommend Blue Lock for soccer, but my god, season 2 had terrible animation.

Unbeknownst Man

Since you've had great experiences with the more "classic" anime movies, you HAVE to give Slam Dunk a shot, and culminate with the latest movie, directed by the series creator himself! Fair warning: Slam Dunk is a tad longer than Haikyuu!, but it's THE OG of sports anime, my personal favourite as well.

JoeyGuy7

Gotta be Ping Pong next. Timeless series, you'll absolutely love it

Chrome

Tsurune. Team Archery club. You might be wondering how does a solo sport be done in a team competition format, but it absolutely does, and the team members matter beyond individual skill.

Lucipurr

Run with the wind

Nguyen

I second this since it is a more mature show.

Nguyen

Second. Great series and I think it leaning more towards seinin will be great for Tony.

Nguyen

Also fantastic music

Cody

Oh I have my doubts, but a man can hope because once Sawamura matures a smidge he’s goated

Isaac Noël

Does Shogi count as sports? I think it does. March Comes In Like A Lion

S

Kuroko’s Baskettball. Started the manga not too long ago and it’s been super fun. Haven’t watched the anime; probably will once I finish reading :P

mojhito5

Man, when you’re enjoying something so much time surely does fly by… will miss haikyuu with Tony. Anyways, kuroko no basket definitely gotta be the next one, very enjoyable too

Tabo51

You like football so I gotta shout out "Eyeshield 21" as a candidate for next sports anime

rene

Hajime no Ippo, especially if you want to see the process of a character really starting from zero. All the different playing and coaching philosophies and how these decisions affect them as a character and their journeys as boxers + their personal life.

Kcashforever

This would take Yearsssssss to finish at this pace

Kcashforever

There’s a lot of great sports anime and there unique in their own way. You want compare it haikyu a lot… I think

Cody

I feel like kuroko’s basketball is always a safe pick, but I also enjoyed megalobox. Megalobox definitely shorter than kuroko’s so if you want short than I’d go megalobox.

SKAOG

9:19 The name of the OST is "The Losers" by Yuki Hayashi.
