Since someone mentioned # of episodes, there's always Prince of Tennis , which did not make he list. Including the OG, OVA's and new stuff it's at 230 ep and counting. So... 127 isn't too bad. :)

My pick is Hajime, its my favorite, i also think its a story Tony will like a lot, imo its much more mature and realistic, and it shows you the journey of an elite athlete from scratch, not just professionally, but in their personal life as well, something most sports anime omit, failing to show how each athlete celebrates their victories or copes with their defeats in their personal lives and in their own solitude. I would have liked to see Slam Dunk nominated too. Otherwise, I'll enjoy both Ping Pong and Hajime when the time comes, but really, knowing Tony for couple years and seeing what Tony likes, I know which of the two he prefers, and hopefully, he'll learn a bit about boxing alongside our protagonist ;)
