Thank you M Alkaline for the Patreon request! This is so awesome! I have a ton of questions about Shamisen. Honestly, I would love to take some lessons, it looks so difficult! Such a cool sounding instrument

I've always loved the sound of the Shamisen in anime OSTs, it really is so unique. There's an anime about playing the Shamisen (Mashiro no Oto) which I enjoyed quite a lot. Sadly, it's basically the only music anime that revolves around this instrument

Those snow white notes😩 I've been waiting for it to finally win the vote(I've been voting ofcourse) I think that would be such a great watch for Tony would love to hear what he thinks.

Wander Natamaru

Same here. I learned a lot in that anime so I'm sure it'll be a treat

Shamisen is a three-cord instrument and the name of the “pick” is “bachi”. Do you remember Demon Slayer Entertainment District Arc and the yellow boy Zenitsu playing an instrument like crazy disguised as a girl? Well, that instrument was this shamisen. I loved that you reacted to this!

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide your input on this. One of the reasons why I enjoy watching your content is your analysisand comments bring wide range of details and perspective on pieces of music I already enjoy listening and it allows me to enjoy and appreciate them even more. I look forward to watching more of your content. Thank you again!

Naruto also has cool mix of rock and traditional Japanese instruments like shamisen.

Omar

Naruto is EXACTLY the one that was on my mind. I absolutely adore the entire soundtrack and the way they implement the Shamisen in is glorious.

I don't know if there is a shamisen focused anime but there is one centered around the Koto, traditional japanese string instrument. It's called Kono Oto Tomare! and it has 2 seasons. If you aren't interested in the anime I'll leave you a link to an official real life rendition of one of the songs of the manga/anime https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1T5uy42rwY. It was made to promote the manga and it worked because it got an anime :)
