Another important question to ask might be, "How do we get back after the rockets drop us off?" Because it seems like a one way ticket.

Potatoes can turn poisonous pretty easily. They naturally contain poisons and age can increase the concentration of the poison. I think these days the cultivars we get from the supermarket and stuff have been bred to keep the concentration down so it's not a big an issue as it use to be

At the end the impact was their "door knockers" basically just the wreckage of their crafts. The impact wasn't targeted it was just a "door knocker" announcing their assault. The troops are the payload. They weren't any controls to pilot because it's basically a rocket, as long as the Dr. did his math right they're going where they need to be, and once in the right air space they deploy and can fly as needed to the exact location. As for when to deploy, it's just another case of math. The Dr. can calculate based on their target, trajectory, flight speed, etc. how long until they are in airspace over the target. Then once it's been that many seconds after launch, they pull their levers.

The guy screaming about his stomach was the potato guy at the end LMAO
