Binged your reactions to this over the weekend, its a favourite anime for me and i completely agree with your sentiment that this ep is the turning point of quality Jc staff in season 1 were testing the waters, they balanced the fan service, cringe romcom and badass hero tale elements well. Season 2 they leaned into the first 2 too much because of how marketable Hestia was as a merch generator Season 3 4 and 5 is where they realised "just follow the source material, adapt the novel and people will like it. thats why now whenever the series isnt in its happy go silly mood like it was in the first ep of S3, the only real fanservice is just stuff like having he cam start on hestias boobs when a scene with her starts. I cant wait to see you react to season 4, The entire second half of episodes are as good or better than This one or Season 1 ep 8 (also the 2 best OPs are in S4)

My understanding is that Fels is immortal, yet a skeleton because her resurrection/immortality magic was imperfect. Hence they no longer look like a human. So the fact that the resurrection magic worked and Weine looks exactly as she did before means it was the first time in 800 years that it was not a failure.

Yeah season 3 is definitely a bump in quality. I think season 4 is the best one out of them all, and then 5 is another low on par with season 2. These are just my preferences though, so I am looking forward to your thoughts about each season as you get further in.

I think with the interaction with Eina where she asks if he made this selfish decision and got a bunch of other people hurt, and he says yes, she is asking based on her knowledge that he was supposedly being selfish trying to claim a rare monster as his prey. She doesn't believe that he would only act out of selfishness

Tony, to clarify that last part with his mentor elf lady. She's lowkey asking if Bell did this "for the shits and giggles". Bell can't admit to anything related to the Xenos because it's a secret given to him by the Guild's superiors (even their own staff don't know). So bell technically lied there to her face but Eina doesn't believe it and she hugs him because she understands he can't say. That's why she says she cant believe him. The hug is just to aknowledge that they both understand each other's position in that moment
