The writing in this ... is just an epic moment after epic moment. The cassette segment was really cool. LOL brought back some memories of those days you would make playlists the hard way. Taping them off the radio OR having a dual cassette tape and borrowing a tape from a friend. Super curious where tf his dad is, that he is riding a huge lizard riding a massive dragon-type creature. LOL wildddd

Reminded just how much this series was made for someone like you with every episode

I love this "past era" + "modern era" that HxH has going on with its setting. You go from these kids tinkering with tape cassettes in an island to his brother with anime figures and a futuristic PC setup on a mansion in top of a mountain. And there's multiple examples of this, fun stuff.

Hello, 1999 Lover here. The scene where Gon and Killua listen to Ging's tape is almost 100% the same in the 1999 version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcHPGm7Rx0M but I still recommend watching it! Remember I mentioned that the 1999 version has less music/OST, right? Even though its true, it still has amazing 90's style OST on it and you can catch a glimpse of how it sounds! The video is 100% spoiler free, I've checked every second of it myself! Also, some interesting things to mention: In the 1999 version, Gon's mom is depicted as being Mito's sister. This is purely a 1999 thing that is NOT present on the Manga or the 2011 version, so it is not spoiler at all. You can actually see grandma pouring water over the grave. Also, in the 1999 version, the information Ging offers about Gon's mom on the tape, right before Gon stops it, is different from the 2011 version. Simpler comparison this time, but good to get to know more about how the 1999's OST sounded like. See you next time!

Great reaction. Togashi's writing is so good. I think it has something to do with how well thought out everything is. Whenever something unexpected happens, it never feels un-earned. You're not thinking "WTF?" you're thinking "Of course! That's exactly what would happen, I just didn't think of it"
