The thing you were praising this over and mentioning ReZero for is literally the thing Re:Zero was also doing btw, both are parodies/Deconstructions of Isekai genre, I still dont get why people had you react to Re:Zero as your very first isekai, same with eminence and Konosuba (although to a lesser extent)

In terms of making fun of the way it normally is yes, one leans into it and punishes the character for it and the other makes the character act rational in the situation

... ok. One episode in and this already has so many blatant comedy moments vs RZ. It's not even comparable. RZ took itself seriously.... even with Subaru being able to respawn. Nothing about that was funny and felt mostly dark. Making fun? W h e r e a n d h o w Bro was miserable as a character. It sounds like you think that a variant of a typical means of genre storytelling = making fun of it... legit no. Why tf am I even talking about this?

Stuff like this is probably why he dropped Re Zero in the first place. Subaru is already hard to stomach in the early parts but the fan base is also miserable and can't take criticism. I have seen multiple creators drop the series because the fans just want to argue with them about things they dislike.

My literal first reply to him was that he didnt have to like it, Re:Zero is my favourite show of all time but yeah Subaru is a massive filter and i don blame people for not having the patience or interest to sit through him until the redemption starts., i just took SLIGHT issue with one thing he said in this reaction, not that deepbro

I think you're forgetting that shows like this, eminence, and konosuba break down the generic genre into a satirical one. Like, they make fun of garbage isekais by shitting on the tropes. Rezero basically feeds into the tropes at first and then adds a more realistic brutal twist on it. It's very very different. Also, I love rezero, but the beginning is LITERALLY the worst part of it. The way he just accepts the situation makes no sense, but i think that's part of the mystery of how he got there.

I was trying to place where I'd heard Seiya's voice before. I finally had to look it up. He's in a ton of shows, He did Vasily in Golden Kamuy, Goblin Slayer (in Goblin Slayer) and Anos in "Misfit of Demon Kings Academy for a few.
