I think he already drove her to her place to pick up the music. He was listening to the stuff he borrowed from her, and found the one he liked among that stuff. That's my interpretation, at least. By the way, not sure if anyone has mentioned this. It's come up multiple times that people have called Takezo "Nadeshiko" as an insult. I believe this is a reference to "Yamato Nadeshiko". I looked it up in Jisho.org, and it refers to a woman who "displays the feminine virtues of old Japan". The show has discussed that most Koto clubs have mostly girls, and this school is an outlier for having mostly boys. And before the current school year, Takezo was the only boy. So, I think it's essentially calling him feminine for joining what is usually considered a club for girls. The old Japan part probably comes in because the Koto is a traditional Japanese instrument. So yeah, high school kids being really mean, as they often are. Joining a club with a lot of girls in it seems pretty masculine to me though 😛
