Should I make a Discord? (Patreon)

Hello to all of my lovely Patrons!

I am writing this post to all tiers to inquire if you think Discord could be a positive addition to this Patreon. I've been wanting to add some new features on here to keep things exciting and I think Discord could be the answer.

To those of you who aren't aware, Discord is a platform for hosting real-time text, video, and voice chat. I'm currently brainstorming different ways I could utilise the platform but I think a cool option could be a monthly live-stream where I listen to an album and we talk about it together, or even if we just bring a few topics and I can livestream a roundtable discussion with me on camera and ya'll in the chat?

I've personally never used Discord so I'd be figuring it out along the way, but to those of you who do/have used it, please comment any ideas you have for how this could be integrated into this Patreon.I want to get to know ya'll a bit more and I think this could be an excellent way for us to do this.

I definitely think discord will be a good idea as it would allow you to engage with the patrons and kind of brainstorm ideas or even hold live amas

That would be great. I know a bunch of YouTubers do Patreon only discord servers. I think they’re partially used for video content sometimes

I think a discord would be a nice idea, just as long as you get some decent moderators. Fortunately your fan base seems positive enough to where it won’t become a toxic place and we can have open conversations about Beatles and other stuff (as long as the Cloud Nine fans aren’t still too bitter lol).

I like Discord as a platform, and it would be cool to engage with other fans and patrons! As long as you got some good moderators, this would be a great thing.

A discord server would be great You could include multiple channels for a variety of topics (Like individual channels for discussing a single Beatle’s solo career)

Yes! I have a discord for my Oasis Podcast patrons and it’s a great space to hang out, much more relaxed than open forums like Twitter

Well this has been overwhelmingly positive! I'm going to propose some time next month as the launch of our Patreon Discord, and in the mean time, I'll think of some server rooms and topics to discuss (plus which tier it will start at).
