Hey everybody,

I want launch my Discord this week!To access it, I have decided you will need to be in the "Early Access" tier or above.What I'd love to hear from you all in the comments to this post is ideas/topics for Servers.I want to create a couple of channels too (with some being just text and others voice/video).So write down your ideas as to how this Discord could be run, what you'd like to get from it and the sort of topics you'd like to discuss on there!

Well, I feel like there should be a pets channel. I notice it as a must-have with the Discord groups I’m in. Maybe have a music channel, too, where peeps can share their fav artists/what they’re listening to now.

Personally, I absolutely need a channel on the server where I can dump all my Beatles memes. 😂😂 I think it’d be awesome if we could do watch parties for biopics and Beatles movies. It’d be really fun to interact and comment on them with one another. The same applies to listening/sharing albums. It’d be great to maybe have an album of the day, or something like that, where we could listen together and have a discussion about our favorite tracks, moments, etc. Seasonal events could be fun too, depending on how many active members there are. Just spitballing some ideas.

It might be good to have twin channels, one for self-promotion and the other for sharing other creators we like. In terms of your projects, maybe group anything related to that in their own set of channels outside of "Text Channels." To start, I'd recommend a dedicated channel for the Current Project(s). Use that one to give updates and answer questions about it. People could also submit helpful materials there related to the topic. A youtube-uploads channel in that same block that shares when a new video is up would be very convenient.

Along with what others have mentioned, like a music channel and meme channel, maybe we could have a channel dedicated to film and tv series. It'd be fun to discuss what people are watching whether it's a new series or favorite movies. Maybe a books channel to discuss what people are reading. I remember you mentioned different books you've read to help prepare with your videos, maybe recommend so more to us! Just throwing my two cents.

This is just an observation as a person who’s been on a few too many discord communities, DON’T make a mental health, politics, or NSFW channels. Dear god, it’s on so many discords and they always lead to community problems. You might be thinking this is obvious but it’s on so many casual discords for some reason. It always ends with major bans, having to moderate unnecessary discord drama, and the general removal of these channels eventually anyway. Just avoid the headache before it starts.

I think some of the basics would be -General -News about new uploads -Music chat -Music recs -Memes -YouTube chat -Vinyl chat (for record hauls, etc) -TV &/or Movie chat -Self-promo (so it doesn't bleed into the other channels) -also a pet chat or food chat is never a bad time

All things music related could probably be either threads in the music channel or just host it all in the music chat already honestly.

There could be a vent channel, but it should be a role and confirmation one should be ok with going on. Like, enter and use at your own risk kind of thing. But even then, best not to

See you'd think, but just from experience modding a server in this vein, the energies of each of those chats can be pretty distinct (ie music chat being more a place for news & discourse & stuff), and can make it so multiple types of convos can happen naturally without leapfrogging

Ehhhh venting about what though? I think we should keep Eliott’s discord just pertaining to his content and related content. We can find other avenues to vent online. Just me two cents :) peace and love ✌️🥦♥️🔥⚡️

I think there needs to be a channel just for Ringo’s social media updates. I would love to see everyone flock together at the release of a new Ringo feet tweet lmao
