We’re excited to announce that from tomorrow we’ll be offering Starterkit packages through our website that include all the machines and accessories needed to get started. So people can finally buy Starterkits directly from Precious Plastic. These will go fast so we wanted to give you, loyal Patrons, a little 24h heads-up to be the first to grab them (more at the end).

We made the decision to move in this new direction for a couple of reasons:
1. Expand access to people that want to get started, but request extra help. In our experience there is a group of people out there that want to start a Precious Plastic workspace, often coming from companies/NGO’s, but want help with that process from start to finish.
2. Push deployment of V4 machines. The V4 machines are a bit more expensive to make and thus require a bigger project investment of time and energy. Offering Starterkits with added consultation provides some more security for these projects, which will result in more v4 machines being deployed.
3. Create a faster feedback process of development. We believe this will give our team more hands-on experience with the problems faced on the ground around the community, so that we can more quickly publish improvements through How To’s and eventually roll them into the next official releases.
4. And lastly, we’re kind of broke after covid-19 and need a viable business model to make sure Precious Plastic can exist in the future.

Win-Win
We are very happy to have found a solution that builds upon and financially supports the existing members of the Precious Plastic Community. To fulfil these orders we will work with Precious Plastic machine builders, designers and community builders. We’re starting off with suppliers in Europe, but our ultimate goal is to have machine builders as close to the delivery point as possible. For the extra support, we will work with people in the Precious Plastic network to provide high quality consulting to help make these projects a success.

24h Heads-up
People have been asking to buy machines and kits from us since the very beginning. Demand will probably be major for these starterkits. So we thought of giving Patrons a little advantage and a 24h heads-up to reserve a starterkits before we get booked out and the waiting list will get too long. Here is a few link to the (hidden) pages for each starterkit (please don't share until tmw).

Hi Mattia, this is a great idea! I notice on the web pages that all four options have the same price and say Brick Workspace. Are there different prices for each option?

Hey Gordon, strange. I just checked from multiple browsers and all seems to be working correctly with appropriate names and prices. Might be something to do with sluggish CDN (the guys delivering you web content), sometimes it might take a few extra minutes before they're fully up-to-date. Alternatively, you could SHIFT+CMD+R to hard refresh and clear all your caches. Let me know if the problem persists. Mattia

What if someone wants to buy the Sheets starterkit, but they don't have a shredder? Are you selling the shredder as a separate product? I only see the shredder as part of the Events kit

Ryoma Kamei

Brilliant idea. Do you guys make everything or get support by the community? Also is it customizable? Thanks!

Hey Oliver. As of Version 4 the idea is to create an interconnected ecosystem of recyclers, each taking care of one single task. As it gets more and more complex as you're trying to do multiple things at once. For this reason one of the requirements with the Sheets Starterkit is to find a local source of shredded recycled plastic. Can be within the Precious Plastic ecosystem if someone is available around you or other recyclers. Whatever works. However if you really want a shredder you could still buy it independently on the bazar but it wouldn't be part of the kit. Let me know if you have more questions

The idea is to partner with people building machines in the community. Working together. We will start with trusted builders in Europe. Learn. Iterate. And expand to builders around the world. At the moment kits are not customizable beyond a basic level.
