Hey Hey 😎

Hope summer is unfolding nicely wherever you are. And if you are in winter hold on tight, it's almost over :)

We want to ask your opinion about perks and swags here on Patreon. Personally, we're not very much into giveaways, branded garments, or free stuff. We don't want unnecessary crap entering the planet because of us. Plus it promotes a consumeristic philosophy. We know many of you think along those lines.

However, on the other hand, we also often hear people asking for t-shirts, keychains or recycled items as perks. And whenever we do an event people usually LOVE to take home a little recycling memory.

Making it clear that we wouldn't produce new things for this (think t-shirts or caps), however, we are thinking of an option that could work for One Army. We are considering offering different perks to each pledge made from the different projects. We could for instance offer repaired Fixing Fashion shirts, useful recycled Precious Plastic products, stays in a cabin at Project Kamp (in a few years 🙃) and so on and so forth.

So here is the tough question turned to you patrons? Should we include more perks here on Patreon? Vote below and let us know :)

I want my contribution to be used for the overall mission instead of for perks, you already give a lot in return, since most of your work is shared, transparent and open sourced. Thanks by the way ;)

Thank You for asking but I would rather see my contribution used to support the work and information that you are providing. Thanks for all you do.

If I did want some merchandise I'd be ok paying a price that reflected the realities of transportation, manufacturer, and infrastructure. But "stuff we all get" seems more marketing then sustainable.

Time spent on fulfilling swag might distract from bettering Precious. Can we do swag in ways that create more serendipity (collisions of opportunity), for example if Precious businesses local to the person instead supply the swag? So people can meet and interact with locals working on Precious plastics.

just stickers for machine shop to spread the good word and tag the machines all over the world.

My thought would be to meet in the middle somewhere. I don't expect material perks as a contributor as the whole point of it is to push the projects further, however if you knew your cost well then maybe discounts (either permanent or say one per month up to $x) on a range of stuff could be cool.

Almost Zero Waste

I think it is better to focus your efforts elsewhere. :)

You are doing fine as is. Very proud to be associated with you.

Thanks everyone for your super valuable inputs 🖤🖤🖤 it helps draw a clearer picture. I should have also mentioned that we would be making those products in collaboration with people in the community so we could still focus on our work and people could get a little extra income from this.

The work you all do is the prize. No "goodie" can top that! I'm truly happy to help One Army out in realizing its vision, even if (so far) only in this modest and remote way. However, I would like to pay you guys a visit (if possible), since I'm in Eindoven. All the best!
