Over the past 8 years we've been designing and developing shredders in-house. These shredders have been replicated thousands of times and are used by many around the world.

Over the years we've made some updates as well as some nice hacks from the community.  But all based on the same principle.

We wanted a new model, a really good. Beyond our own expertise. We got in touch with Weima, shredder company based in, you've guessed it, Germany. They've been making big ass shredders for many years. Lots of expertise.

We begun a collaboration to develop a new shredder for Precious Plastic. We're starting with a small one, completely new concept. Should be safer, faster, not clogging and better with diverse plastic (thicker + thin).

We have just received the first prototype and are super excited to share it with you Patrons! Watch the video here

First impressions is that is works very well but still needs some optimizations with Yann heading to Germany 🇩🇪 in July to discuss further improvements.

This is still an ongoing process - a preview before release. If you're into shredders make sure to join the dedicated channel in Discord #🦄shredder-dev.

If we manage to make a REALLY GOOD shredder it is bound to have a BIG impact for the many people using Precious Plastic and all the new ones coming!

Stay tuned for updates and let us know what you think in the comments below ✍️

Love the collaboration! Been working on something called Localverse to expand such efforts into 'open collaboration'. So imagine an endless livestream that humanity can view and chime in with designs and ideas. I'm not savvy enough to have a website yet 😄. Will PM you, maybe we can collaborate 🙂👍

Cool! Plastic is truly huge environmental problem, isn’t it? ^v< b

Can you share a little more on how to find the #🦄shredder-dev channel on discord? Thanks, I'm excited to hear how this evolves. It would be amazing if this machine was adaptable enough to handle not just a variety of plastics but could be used to shred paper and cardboard.

Make sure you have the main Precious Plastic Role from #Start-here And then the @contributer role in the #pp-start-here
