A market for recycled Bricks? (Patreon)

A team from Precious Plastic recently went to Nigeria to do market research for a new recycled plastic brick and production center. Study the local market and design a brick to serve it.

The project is sponsored by the Dutch innovation government agency to encourage locally produced building materials in developing countries.

During our 2 weeks there we traveled across Nigeria, met with existing brick manufacturers, Nigerian government officials, developers, and more people.

The picture below is from a visit we did with local school builders in a part of Lagos called Makoko. We were checking a location to see if we could build a small classroom or recreation center as a demonstration building made from recycled bricks.

The next phase of the project starts in 2023, so stay tuned and follow 🦄brick-dev on Discord for updates!
