Last bit made me decide, we must kill Malik.

Jane Hexum

Well, I think that was Malik at his weakest attempt On day one honestly, I hope Fin has no chance at victory. I ship M&M and I think the story will be more interesting in its next arc. If Fin is still single. Especially with the NTR baggage over his head.

AAAAA

I standby the fact Malik is a total bro. Fin literally asked for this.

He stated he respects Fin now and Maggie was the one who came onto Malik. Like in Kara route, i think there was a possibility Malik wouldn't have gone after Maggie if Fin asked him. (That said its totally possible he lied lol, i think you can also infer Malik was always waiting for a chance in Kara route also)

>>165519915

If you’re taking his statements at face value and I’m questioning whether your judgement is clouded by enjoyment of the cucking. He has always in every appearance said one thing and meant another or said something knowing it would lead the to other person’s damnation or detriment. He just didn’t care because it meant good outcomes for himself.

Malik is our king

Roland Taranis

So, I took my time reading and digesting this chapter, a lot of things to discuss =) First, a few comments on details within. I really like Maggie's reaction toward Fin's martyrdom tendencies, and it even allowed me to pinpoint why these irks me so much. In essence, it is much less a devout act than a discarding of responsibilities unto the object of worship, fueled by self-depredation. If things go wrong, it can't be Fin's fault (in this example), he already allowed her everything. It is a deeply cowardly act in that case, as their relationship is not nearly mature enough to allow such play. I also like the slight hint that Dryda is evolving beyond blind admiration. The way she spoke, I can somewhat discern the beginning of a "Confident Cuckquean" personality for her. Kinda like "My Fin is sleeping around, but I will be the one he comes back to, as I am the one to love him the most". She demonstrates a social acumen I wouldn't have guessed in her word-craft, but I sure won't complain, as it allows her character to find its place that much quicker. It also tranquilizes me somewhat for the future, as the thread that unites her & Fin (pun intended) is based off a lie. And the more personal enjoyment she finds in this situation, the less likely she is to go berserk when the truth ineluctably comes out. Now for the big part, the Relationship Conundrum. I will begin by amending my declaration from last week. My goal would be not only for Fin to stay proactive, but also to gain some character without betraying what makes him what he his. Fin is such a goody two shoes that he is as bland as a brand new cutting board for now. He needs some cutting marks and some meat juice to seep in in order to give him color and depth. Those would give that much more credit to his benevolent nature. But that cannot come from running away from the situation at hand, so I am very glad we are directed towards not giving up. Especially as for me, Malik's victory is far from complete yet. With his display he undoubtedly demonstrated that his physicality is incomparable to Fin's. Especially since the latter inconsiderately set himself to fail by mimicking the former [keep that in mind, it becomes relevant later ;-) ] But he hasn't even tried to break in her heart yet, contrary to what he announced last chapter. Fin still is the uncontested winner on that front. For now. And what I like in this situation is that the next logical step is a "win-win-win" that doesn't invite for manipulation. I think Malik should slow down and actually, genuinely help the couple sort their feelings out in the light of what just happened. A huge, dispassionate debriefing of sort, with axis of improvements. He doesn't need to rush things, with that much progress done before the day even ended. And from this, everyone wins. Malik demonstrate some degree of genuine care that would allow him to put his foot in the door to Maggie's heart. Fin gets to have a very potent mentor in matters of the mind. Maggie will receive the best of both worlds. This mentoring situation between Fin & Malik seems that more plausible that I think a very important detail caught the Orc's eye. Not only did Fin show some teeth prior to the cucking, which is always appreciated, but through the wording, I think he didn't only mimic Malik's movements that he saw. He "perfectly" replicated them (to the extent his physicality allowed). And that, the Orc sure wouldn't have missed. I think it is a low level manifestation of Fin's heroic trait, the same as in the OG universe. "Learning" but that goes far beyond that, as we saw in this series' Wasps Bad End. It is much less learning than some sort of "Appropriation" of someone's skill, even those that shouldn't be learnable, like the Wasps pheromones (or the Foxes in OG Quest). If Malik can perceive that potential, he might actually steer Fin towards becoming his inheritor, down to the Orcs inherent techniques like "masculinity absorption", which he would easily sell right now that the gap has been established. We could even have yet another, but in a pleasant way, pink haired elf willingly giving their masculinity to Fin ;-) Fate sure is a spiral @_@ The only point I'd be worried about would be that like in Academy, prolonged exposure to Malik could turn Fin into "Malik Jr". To counteract that, I'd have to bet on two, slightly weak factors. The Vara inheritance, which could give him enough stubbornness to keep his integrity. And the continuous positive influences around him, like Serane & Zenon, as well as Maggie for as long as Malik doesn't turn her against him. I hope it will be enough >_<

Thank you for the assessment~ The stuff you picked up on with the dynamic between Fin and Maggie was pretty spot on.

Roland Taranis
>>165548155

For now, he reigns with a fair enough hand. But I'm French, and if the king displeases me, I for sure will be coming for his head 😈

Roland Taranis
>>165518772

I feel like that we should keep that option on the back of our mind for the time the necessity presents itself, which hasn't happened yet ;-)

Roland Taranis
>>165519915

Those are very valid concerns, but on the other hand I would advise against making conclusions based on precedent series. This is not only a different timeline, it is an entirely different universe. Every character we have crossed here haven't been picture perfect replicas from the OG series. So I nurture the hope that Malik is somewhat genuine is his actions, comparatively to his devious but not driven by greed nature.

LancelotDeLuLac
>>165519915

Reread this series and Malik is still doing the same thing. He even admits it at one point lol, I know you enjoy the smut but put that aside to realize it’s nowhere near our best interests to walk to the tune of Malik

LancelotDeLuLac
>>165518772

Every single time that “necessity presents itself” it has been too late when it comes to Malik. He has always won unless sure bad luck undoes his machinations.

Roland Taranis
>>165519574

I completely agree ! The way things are going before the day ended, I have little to no doubt Malik would succeed. That's why I think evening the odds through a tutelage would make things that much more interesting for the current arc. I just hope that if Fin drags the NTR baggage beyond this contest, it won't express itself through depression... T_T

Jane Hexum
>>165592890

Holy shit that's a long post. Oh right, I should probably actually read it.

Jane Hexum
>>165519574

I believe a period of depression would made sense for the character or perhaps a period of anger. We're even trying to embrace being a cuck Either way, I think it good character development and I'm excited to see how fin grows from this in the long term.

Roland Taranis
>>165519574

I could settle for a "weary" or "catatonic" depression period, but please no more self flagellation T_T This narratively works as well because it allows the secondary cast to step in and show off for the duration of the recovery ;-)

Jane Hexum
>>165592890

oh i like the idea of cuckqueen Dryda Personally, I am hoping that Mallik tries to feminize Fin and turns Fin into a trap but the process is interrupted before fin gets fully feminized and brainwashed. Personally, I'm rather disinterested in any sort of Mallik mentorship and Fin becoming more masculine and macho is just boring to me. But that's just my personal opinion.

Roland Taranis
>>165592890

I fear our preferences aren't reconcilable on that one ^^' Does it necessarily have to happen to Fin ? Could you settle for something similar happening to someone else ? Since I feel Zenon would be an important stepping stone in Fin's development in the case of a tutelage, it might have to wait until another arc T_T

Roland Taranis
>>165518772

You definitely aren't wrong. But, from a pessimistic & purely logical pov, I'm afraid we'd already be fucked nonetheless. Malik is a strategist on par with beings that have an unlimited lifespan. There will never be an option to initiate a "coup d'état" from our part, he will make sure of that. Unless we use the same methods he uses, corrupting/dominating enough people while deceiving him to gain the upper hand. Morally dubious to say the least. And then he'd have won still, as Fin would walk in his steps. As far as I can discern, his downfall can only come from himself alone, as nothing short of a big enough fuck-up could invite Dryda's instant retaliation, the only decisive counter force present. So, in order not to be crushed by an inability to affect things that would kill my interest for the series outright, I choose to believe that while he is calculating, his respect is also somewhat genuine (the two aren't mutually exclusive). Otherwise, no amount of analyzing could take us out of the shit hole we're in. This choice was to be made in the tower & never reunite with his group (if the option was ever open, don't remember), something close to 15 chapters ago. And I'd rather focus on what can be done than mull over what should have been.

Roland Taranis
>>165519915

I will reread at some point. From memory, the early encounters were indeed similar from what we could have expected of him, but he demonstrated since then enough deviation to give me some hope for a different path.

Roland Taranis

I realized that I missed an important point in the big post x_x So I make it here ^^' I think it is imperative for Fin to grow enough backbone not only for my personal enjoyment, but as a necessity for the longevity of the series. We are at the gates of the Layers. Depending if there is an Akademy arc or not (it's not called like that in that universe, but I can't remember the spelling ^^'), we could be ten days away from Fin being reintegrated in his own world. What then ? I fear that bland Fin would only be thrown around like a ragdoll, overwhelmed by situations that are too far away from his restrained areas of expertise. Especially if he loses Maggie to Malik, as I think will happen. He'd lose part if not all his capability for proactive decision making into a strictly reactionary one. And I feel like growing some hair on his chest would prepare him better to deal with that, which would help keep the interest fresh =) I have other points in mind, but they aren't relevant enough for now, so I'll keep them for the coming weeks ^^'

Jane Hexum
>>165604090

I disagree with this. I think the story can be very interesting if a character reaches a low point. It's always very enjoyable to see them overcome it. So very enjoyable to see a character dressed completely self destruct. or caven into the pressure.

Jane Hexum
>>165519915

Malik is a manipulator and a villain I think that's rather plain and simple Especially if you've read the extra content with the Elf I think there's a possibility Malik would have been redeemed. But I do think we're past that point now. I do find it interesting that his manipulation tactics seem to be very effective.

AAAAA
>>165519915

Thats not even the worst thing he did this timeline lol, there was a bonus chp where he essentially kills his father. If im being serious, I like his character. Im a sucker for villains who are dispicable or get people riled up. Clearly there is a reason we are almost at like 30 comments on this chp. I think keeping him around will keep things spicy, but i do understand some people do not like Malik or want to find a path that causes the least harm to Fin.

Jane Hexum
>>165518772

I remember when I got the same way about cho yeong and Winter completely won me over the second she made him a gamer. :)

Krimson

I want to see Mallik steal all the girls whil Fin is too patetic to do anythin bout it

Roland Taranis
>>165604090

I think I see where you're coming from, and I'd say a few things. Do not put every situation in the same basket. You know me, willing self destruction is among my kinks, but in the case of a long winded story like this one ? It'd shut down the story, pure & simple. Moreover, momentarily being at a low point or cave under pressure is very different from losing agenda in every situation you participate in for an extended period of time. And you can only overcome that by regaining some measure of control over your fate, like Fin did in Odyssey, through making his own decisions, which is exactly what I advocated above, albeit with a much smoother transition. I just think that even a slightly stronger Fin will be more readily apt to make those decisions instead of fumbling about, possibly causing more damage than the poor guy deserves. The situation he is about to jump into will be turbulent enough a it is, I feel like ^^

>>165548155

didn't the French invent the idea of cuckolg wit Lanclot and alls that?

Roland Taranis
>>165548155

I wouldn't be surprised that a more modern resurgence of the cuckold phenomena originated from France, very possible. Extremely possible in regard of the "hotwife" disposition, even. However, if you referenced the whole Lancelot, Guinevere & Arthur as the root of it, I'm afraid that while it doesn't originate from a distinct country, that legend was mostly appropriated by the UK. Little France there, I'm afraid.

Roland Taranis
>>165519915

I haven't read the different bonus chapters, so I can't say. But I feel like giving Malik the label "plain villain" would be underselling Winter's work on this character. I like my characters nuanced, and for now, judging from what he showed sprinkled with some expectations derived from prior knowledge, I like what I see. We already have an example of a greed motivated villain in the form of Sam, and Malik isn't that. Every action he takes feels motivated by the vision of a barely attainable goal, whichever it is. Zenon might have been a worthy prize in the South Seas they both fell into the Layers from, but I feel like Fin overshadows that by an order of magnitude. And to get such a worthy prize, even Malik would concede some aspects of his usual modus operandi, is what I feel. Which opens a peculiar path in my mind, that despite his calculated nature that he sure won't abandon, some measure of genuine cooperation can happen. Do not get me wrong, I can be mistaken. Maybe Malik is playing 5D chess with us and we're playing right into the Devil's hand. That's the thing with talented manipulative characters, you can always push it one step further. But I know something. If that happens to be the case, I suspect that would unfortunately make me disengage from this story. Because as Lancelot highlighted, we would then be in an insurmountable amount of shit, one I would derive no pleasure following.

Roland Taranis
>>165623081

For better or for worse, this is a democracy and every voice is worthy to be heard. The votes will say if the majority agrees. However on my end I have better hope for this story than it becoming a basic NTR hentai plot with humiliation, which are already a dime a dozen on the internet.

Krimson
>>165623081

dude this is porn and na this shit is rare to find this good we gots lots of plot and builds up not just ands they fuck ands they fuck over and over this is the play off to the build up just try and enjoy it man

Krimson
>>165604090

dude your pushen your own shit on other peple just try and enjoy wrigter girl gots skills just let her cook man

Krimson

let the ntr flow

Roland Taranis
>>165604090

I don't feel like I'm pushing anything to anyone. Doubly so that Winter will go her own way whatever I say, that's a given. And on top, the votes can and already did in the past go contrary to my own opinion. I'd rather we have a discourse about things rather than passively receive it. Otherwise I'd ultimately lose interest.

Roland Taranis
>>165592890

You are quite right. I have many a fringe kink. I am also very straight. To the point that I've stopped reading Rangers a while ago because I lost interest, with the direction things were taking.

Roland Taranis
>>165623081

Dude, please make an effort to write coherent English. I am not a native speaker and I barely managed to understand any meaning in what you just wrote -_-' I suppose it is something along the lines of "chill, sit back and enjoy the show" ? Here is why I won't do that. As you could guess in another comment, my preferences do not match the archetypal profile found here. From time to time, some very niche situations in Winter's works manages to scratch itches that are satisfied nowhere else. But on the other hand, what of our tastes doesn't overlap, I really, really don't like. Since my tastes are peculiar, if I don't express my point of view, I would slowly but surely grow dissatisfied, and then there would be nothing left for me than silently begin packing my bags... My point was that we all have our own way of enjoying these series, from the porn to the ability to shape the story through our votes.
