Part 3 of Realtime Car Destruction FULL COURSE for Blender.

UPDATE: after latest updates of RBC, you might notice that something around 00:54 your car could drop down on the floor like being too heavy. NO WORRIES: Here is the fix :
1- update both Blender and RBC addon to the latest version ( you are using an old one)
2- in RBC addon, click the "update rbc rig" button (if visible) to let it recognize the rig properly from older version
3- in RBC physics panel, increase the "weight" a lot, like to 10 or similar
4- in RBC, turn ON the function "set weight position", to move the weight center a bit in the back, to balance the entire car properly, then remember to turn it off! 5- play with suspension settings in order to make them very strong

Oh now I see you are the one commenting on youtube! Ok, I will check it tomorrow

And also I commented here because the replies on YouTube weren't working.

Ook, found whats wrong. Basicly dont change the weight manually. Instead use RBC addon "physics"panel, and tweak the "weight" setting from there. That value controls the mass for all the rigid bodies of the car all togheter in a balanced way. You can perfectly increase it until you reach 1000 kg for the body. Then you might have to adjust also the suspension settings accordingly of course. By doing this, I was able to drive your car in a few minutes! Side note: put the sphere far from the car when you are not using it. Let me know if it works.

nayel45

Actually, the weight setting is not accessible for me. Is this because I don't have the paid version for RBC Addon?

RaffoVFX

I dont know if its gonna work with the free version with the new update. You can try at your own risk to follow the entire course without buying the addon, but you will have to adapt all values to your specific scene, which is kinda hell-ish

My car has a spring stiffness of 2,000 and a weight of 1000 kg in a rigid body, it does not move, only the tires try very hard to move, but impossible, I don't know if I can lose more weight, or what to do to make it the right thing.

Pablo Andres Tamara

Yes, I already read it, I have blender, 4.0 and the latest version of RBC for blender, but the "set weight position" option is not available in the Free version of RBC version 1.2.4. Penso che non puoi continuare con il componente aggiuntivo gratuito, Aiuto

RaffoVFX

Other people has already done the entire tutorial using the free version of rbc, so you can too. Send the file please - just copypaste the wetransfer link here

RaffoVFX

I just opened your file, saw the car "falling" on floor, so I clicked in the button "udate rbc rigs" ( which is in the panel "rbc collection" ), and now its fixed. If you dont see that button is because you are using an old version of rbc addon

Pablo Andres Tamara

Very good, I got it, I updated to a version that a friend gave me, but the strange thing is that that version is not available in Blender Market. I will continue with the tutorial, thank you very much

Pablo Andres Tamara

It was fixed, but the 1000 kg at the time of clicking the update button, in the "RBC collection" section became 6.7 Kg with that weight the car shot out like a rocket, haha then it increased to 1000 kg and it is still very heavy and falls hard, can I reduce the weight from 1000 kg to 500 kg or etc?

RaffoVFX

you know how the addon works now, so yeah adjust your car settings in way that works for your scene. The tutorial still applies even if you dont use the same exact settings that I used in the old version, just understand the principles and adapt them.
