The "full text" mentioned in the video, including all useful links and stuff, is in the youtube description.
I suggest copy-pasting that text in a text file in your desktop :)

The world in Blender

FIRST INSTALLATION STEPS AND USAGE - get renderdoc version 1.13, dont use others https://renderdoc.org/builds - get Maps Models Importer addon for Blender VERSION 0.5.0 - dont download the github zip, use this link and find the 0.5.0 version only https://github.com/eliemichel/MapsModelsImporter/releases/ STEPS: 1) create Chrome desktop shortcut 2) on Chrome settings, under "ON STARTUP" ensure to choose "OPEN THE NEW TAB PAGE" (we dont want Chrome to continue from the last session, otherwise doesnt work) 3) close Chrome, and ensure there is not any Chrome session open anywhere 2) right click on Chrome icon, click on "properties" 2) on "DESTINATION", take note of that entire line 3) now replace that line with one of these 2 versions (use the x86 version if your original "destination" line contains the "x86" as well, otherwise use the other version) VERSION 1: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "SET RENDERDOC_HOOK_EGL=0 && START "" ^"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe^" --disable-gpu-sandbox --gpu-startup-dialog" VERSION 2 (use this if your Chrome original "destination" line doesnt include the word "x86" ) C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "SET RENDERDOC_HOOK_EGL=0 && START "" ^"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe^" --disable-gpu-sandbox --gpu-startup-dialog" NOTE: If your Chrome is installed in a different location to the one above you may need to go in and change parts of this text. 4) open Chrome from that icon 5) it will open an empty window AND ALSO a small window with a number. Remember that number and DONT CLOSE this 2 windows 6) Open Renderdoc, click File / Inject into process 7) In the list of numbers, find the one that corresponds to the number seen in the little window before, double click it 8) Only at this point, click OK in the little window with that number 9) Go on Google maps (dont use google earth) 10) On bottom left options, activate Global View and Satellite (You must see the 3d stuff basicly) 11) choose a view, press STAMP ONCE WHILE MOVING THE VIEW SLOWLY A LITTLE BIT 12) on Renderdoc will appear a thumbail. right click and save it Sometimes it doesnt take the shot, just retry changing the view a little bit 13) In Blender, press F3 and search "Google Maps" , and finally choose the newly generated RDC file to import it. 14) remember to rest the original Chrome "destination" line when you are done NOTES: - for maximum textures quality, zoom in with the mouse, and then press a few times CTRL and - (Control and Minus symbol). [note: maybe is the opposite? requires tests] This will enlarge the saved area using the textures quality of a google maps close up point of view
